Agreed, I loved his two songs in Toronto!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Would like to see this on the Australian leg of the tour. Dont know why he doesn't sing more. :)
  • I'm all for Mike singing. The song "Powerless" is a tune (studio song Stone and Mike did together a while ago)

I saw the Toronto YouTube of Mike singing and that was cool.

However, to be honest, I wasn't a fan of him having a mic during the main set. Eddie already has Jeff, Stone and Matt doing backing singing. From the 3 gigs this tour I've seen, I couldn't hear Mike specifically and the mic stand in front of him impeded his ability to move back and forth on the stage as much as usual.

So yeh for me, let him sing, but within reason.

I agree - hearing him @ FTM is so much fun. I would definitely like to see him rip out a song during the tour!

He was awesome in Toronto. That Greatest Waterfall tune I thought was great. I woke up the following morning with that song in my head.

His guitar playing wasnt toooooo bad in Toronto either.

Is the Greatest waterfall song the first one about his daughter? I totally thought he was saying "Welcome, to the greatest one of all" as if he was welcoming his daughter into the world. The other thing I thought was maybe "Welcome to the greatest world of all."

Could be wrong on this, just curious what other people thought...

Thank You guys for the thread and the link.
Mike sings much better than I thought and hear in Voodoo child vid.
Mike is my hero like always.
(and it was great idea to get on the left side, near Mike on Berlin show - pure pleasure to watch him during the concert:))

Yes. Pearl Jam still has uncovered potential. Who's next?

Toronto got my dream opener, no doubt, perhaps they can do this more often even without forgetting their opening acts at airports.

Bring on that solo album Mike.

    Ummmm, no.

Shadow 86 is one thing, as is him doing a last minute couple songs due to unforeseen circumstances with the opening band, but I don't want the master singing during a Pearl Jam set. Mike sings with his ax.
  • luv mike and stone, but keep them away from the mic. matt is the only one who has any real singing ability (besides ed).

The hilarious part about this is that you posted my video....I am "inbetweeninsmine" on YouTube. And I'm not trying to say that I mind you posting it, just super coincidental.....Share it with everyone and post it everywhere. I hope people enjoy it as much as I do! :)

But yeah, I still don't think he's saying "waterfall."

He may be wailing with his AX but hey, Ed picked up the guitar so... The human voice is the oldest instrument there is, I believe he can master all forms of expression.

Yes Ed plays guitar but he isn't busting out solos during songs. Mike has a perfectly functional voice but Ed has an incredible voice and the singing should be left to him.

Just saw the vid. While his singing ability is def. limited, I actually thought he did a pretty damn good job.

First people say let him sing with his Axe, then they try to kill Even Flow, What gives?

    Let the master shine

Definitely! I always thought he didn't sing because he couldn't - but the videos from Toronto suggest otherwise!

Come on Mikey, we'll help you out of your shell! :)

But wait until Europe, OK??? ;)
