Seriously? :o  :? Is that shit safe for humans, let alone dogs?

Sorry MrSmith, I really think you and the doggie should have a shower together. I mean your both gonna get soaked anyways. Otherwise, take him out back, tie him up and hose him down (gently, of course ;) )

I know my dog loves rolling around in the most foul shit imaginable. Rotted fish guts and bird shit is her favourite

I hope you are not serious about febreze on a dog?

when i had a cat many years ago, there was some white shampoo in a bottle that did not require rinsing for cats.
it is available at the grocery or pet store. maybe there is the same for dogs?

My mom used to chase the family dog around the house with a bottle of febreeze.. it was hilarious!

Its probably harmless. The dog is 13 now and still chugging along. For a lab that is ancient!
  • ha no! im just kidding. its some kind of dry dog shampoo, which i suspect is just Febreze in a different bottle. smells just like it.

    he does hate it though.

haha i missed "bed" in that sentence. i would imagine a dog makes a lot of noise in a dryer.

Can't imagine that's good for the dog. They lick their fur and would get the chemicals in their mouth. I don't have a dog now, but when I did, I bathed him in WARM water. He was fine with it and didn't try to get away like he did when I previously used the hose. Dogs resist baths in part because the water is cold - that's what it seemed to me.

definitely depends on the dog. both our dogs do NOT like getting wet. ever. igby is easier to bathe simply b/c he is small. chloe tolerates it simply b/c she is a compliant dog. but you can definitely tell both of them are absolutely miserable being bathed. hell, igby doesn't even like to get rained on, neither like the hose, etc. i think the warm water is definitely better, but chloe hates getting into the tub, so i think the cold water of the hose os less traumatic for her. you should see our cat when we bathe her. something with her old age, her hair is just nasty. have to bather her once a month or she looks/feels really nasty! :? i bather her in the kitchen sink and she's a lot more tolerant than she was at first, but man...the sounds that eminate out of that cat...yikes!

  • Our one dog is an idiot... if she sees a lake or a pool, she will do what ever we can to get in it. She even jumped on top of my parents solar cover once :)

But if it is sprinkling outside, or if it's bathtime, or god forbid a hose is involve, she acts as though she will melt if she gets a drop of water on her.

one of my mother's past dogs used to LOVE the hose, and chase it, bite at the water, etc. you could not use the hose while she was around she was that nutty. however, try to give her a bath or have her out in the rain? no way. :P

My cat was like that with the vacuum. Anytime it was pulled out she would plop her ass down in front of it and I would have to vacuum her for a good 10 to 15 minutes. She still seemed to shed like a bitch though ;):D:D:D

My dogs get shower. I just jump in with them. The shower head comes off the wall and I can use it to rinse then off and then there locked in the bathroom until I dry them off a bit. They love the scratch of the towel and sit there happily for that.

    ha!
my husband does that with igby...but then he lets him out of the shower, dries him a wee bit - and then he continues with his own shower, the bathroom door open...so the dog runs around the house wet. :?  chloe would never tolerate that, and i think if either of us even tried it, we'd kill ourselves slipping in the process.

One of my dogs, his name is Zeke, he is deathly afraid of water: bath, hose, spray bottle, sprinklers, rain, even the beach! We thought he'd like at least the ocean because he has Lab in him, but he was not having it last summer in Tampa...

Strangely though, when it snows....he LOVES it. He runs out in the yard and does laps in the snow, jumps and buries his nose in the snow and eats as much as he can.....freak.

Haha, to mention Zeke again...everytime the vacuum is out he will pounce at it and bark...our vacuum has teeth marks on it.:lol::lol:
