Hey guys, I went for their concert in the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, Canada, all the way from the Middle east where I live. This was my first time and I absolutely loved it. They played all my favourite songs and I had an amazing time although I went all alone.

Only the worry was about how I went through the ticket buying experience. Yeah very sad that the tickets were sold by ticketmaster within 4 hours of opening of sales, and i guess they all landed up in the hands of the scummy dirty scalpers. I was movinbg along the location around an hour before the show timings, expecting to pick up tickets for around 100-125 CAD (real price 40 cad)each for the four of us. You won't believe but the fuckers were selling it for nothing less than 400-500 CAD each. All eddie / pearl jam fans know one thing for sure that he is strictly principled and against the concept of scalping. Met another fan who discussed the same with me, n we both decided not to encourage these creepy bastards by buying tickets at unbeievable prices.

After a long wait when scalpers didn't come down with their prices, me and the other fan, went our own ways and secretly bought our tickets from them at astronomically hiked prices because for us Pearl Jam is priceless. My othet 3 friends had to go n spend time at a bar as they could not afford to pay so much. I guess thats the way of life, when stars perform they make a good deal for a whole lot of losers too, in every respect. We love you Pearl Jam, and just wish that we fans, get our rights to your concert tickets at its face value. Through this portal your fans must be given the first preference to buy tickets. Thanks.

I paid $200 a ticket off of a site on the net for pretty good seats, section 305 first row. I totally agree with you on the scalper situation at that concert. Friends of ours came with us down to the venue hoping to get some tickets but the only one's they could find were $300 for lawn tickets which is rediculously priced! They ended up just sitting outside the venue for most of the show, they said you could hear PJ pretty good.
If you have nothing to lose, you have nothing to worry about.

I went to that show and it was absolutely amazing! I tried to get tickets on Ticketmaster the day they were on sale but they sold out way to fast to get tickets together. I just figured I wouldn't be able to go unless I bought the tickets from a scalper. My husband went to his favorite bard and was telling his friend the owner the story about the tickets..his friend said he would ask some of his bar contacts for prizes to have a look for him and see if he could get them. 3 Days before the concert he called and said we got our tickets!!! It was soooo exciting! I got them at a very decent rate too center stage about 1 section up from the floor! It was great!

  • Great show. The preset with the Neil Young cover songs was AMAZING!!! Too bad this wasn't apart of the bootleg. Anyways, I went with a group of 20+ and at least 4 of them paid over $200 for lawns. Toronto scalpers make me sick.

    A fellow Hamiltonian ... Cheers.

I was actually lucky enough to find a ticket from a fellow club member from Montreal hours before the show on ticket market. He had 8th row center. I went to the seat and sat for maybe a song but then I stood behind the first row as there was a huge space available. Security looked me up and down and seen that I was harmless and I was face to face with McCready for the rest of the night. Brilliant! I spent the the rest of the day up on the lawn with friends before PJ. The lawn is under rated for sure at the Molson Amphitheater. Great place to see a show.

When Eddie says it's nice to see you, it's been a long time at the beginning of OF THE GIRL ... chills every time I hear it.

... shortly, shortly, shortly ... another round will be upon us

Great show, I got lucky when purchasing my tickets. I had heard a few days before hand that a radio station (102.1 The Edge) was having a presale of tickets even before ticketmaster could sell theirs. Got my tickets no problem, got lucky I guess when I heard about the presale as I don't even get that radio station in the area which I live. I tried the day Ticketmaster were selling theirs and couldn't even get a sniff. So I'm glad I got presale or I might not have even got to see them  or I would have had to try and purchase some off those scumbag scalpers

I was at the show with my bro... when I picked up my 10C tickets at 3 in the afternoon all of the scalpers were waiting at the exit of the 10C booth offering $500-700 for the pair... I looked the guy in the face and said "$4000 in hand right now"... he looked at me and said "Are you mad?"... I told him "Dude, you're going to turn around and sell them for 5000+...." anyway... end of conversation, I wasn't really going to sell them anyway after having flown up from Houston for my brother's birthday present...

But as a general rule of thumb, Toronto scalpers are very well organized and ruthless when they know a show is sold out... and that particular show was terrible... they were raping people left right and center for lawn tickets (even though the Amp had oversold the lawn by approximately 3000 tickets).

And there isn't really anything you can do about it.... I once had a nasty run in with this particular scalper... a 400 lb black man... and it almost resulted in me getting my skull caved in.... Anyway, if you've ever delt with the scalpers in T.O you know who I'm talking about... he's at every major concert, leafs games, and baseball games... anyway, after the incident I walked up to a police officer, took him over with me to this guy and said "this guy right here is scalping tickets, I will testify to it"... the police man looked at the guy and said to me "We've tried to arrest him for it several times before, and it never sticks. Believe me, you're better off just letting this go." and the cop walked away.... that I couldn't believe... but unfortunately you're at the scalper's mercy, even though what they're doing is illegal....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I've been going to concerts in the Toronto area for the better part of my life and seeing the parasites (scalpers) outside the venues on a nightly basis always makes me angry. One time I went to a MGMT show at the Mod Club here in Toronto. Tickets were $12.50 The scalpers wanted $60 AAAND The venue was still selling tickets at the box office. Unbelievable. There's one guy I call Fabio...Total loser with long blond hair. The guy is a piece of shit and I wouldn't think twice about hitting him with my car if I had the chance.

Sorry to hear about your shitty experience. Don't think of Toronto as a whole as a shady place. it's only like 80% shady. :) us 20% are pretty good people.

Unbelievable to say the least. The way I found out about that purple lambo was when I was checking it out in front of the Air Canada Center before the 2005 PJ show, I had gone up to him to see what they were charging for PJ tickets. Once he told me what he wanted for a ticket, and after the price took my total interest away from speaking to him anymore, I cutt him off and told him "hey man sorry, but I'm going to go check out the purple lambo." I was still by him when as I was about to peak into the car and I heard the BEEP BEEP from the pressing of the lock doors button to the car. I turned around and he had this smirk on his face as he was holding the keys pointed towards the car. I immediately thought how I wanted to smash his face. Not because he has a purple lambo and I don't, but because of the way he either bought that lambo and/or supports it's function.
After that, I did some research on him and yep, he's a scumbag. A big one too!
Though I would never smash anyone in the face, I think ultimately the reason why he needs to be smashed in the face is the fact that his purple lambo, bought(?) & operated by stomping on the income of everyday people, is parked on an angle right by the entrance to the arena, on display. When the ego is on display like that, I think the individual should seriously consider treatment of some kind.
Just writing this here on this forum has given that scumbag way too much respect.

Processing the fact that people will pay this guy 10 times the amount for a ticket and he drives away in a lambo, makes me mad.

  • Oh you think Toronto scalpers are bad...Montreal's are WAAAY worse. My friend was in line for a ticket drop for U2...and she was right at the front. Right as the box office was opening this big douchebag scalper pushes her and others out of the way and barrels up to the window to buy tix...he wasn't even IN LINE! The venue did NOTHING! My friend got the impression they were afraid of this guy...like this is normal behaviour for him.

    I went to the Toronto show...got tix from 10C. 201 row D . :)

I'll never understand Toronto scalpers. I tried to go to Neil Young and Massey. I went for the ticket drop but only 1 pair was released. I waited till well after the show started scalpers would not budge from their $700 - $750 per. They would rather eat all the tix they had then lower their prices. I was shocked.
I can only guess that they made so much money already that they weren't really losing anything in eating the tix.
Scalpers are scum but as long as people are willing to give the money...even in secret..they will keep on selling.

Same here. Great thing about getting in those beer/food lines @ the Molson Amp was you wouldn't miss what was playing on stage. I was waiting to get glasses of water & food inline after the pre-sest, when all of a sudden Ed comes up with the member's of the Pharmists to kick out the jam's. I missed their set cause I was still waiting in line but did watch all of it on the TV monitors that were @ the food stand.

That sucks! It was worth it though!
  • To the OP. Join 10C and get your tix that way.

If you can't get tix that way then go to the pre-party fundraiser. They almost always have a few extra tix floating around. (There is a list at the merch table). They may not be great, but there as good as anything those scumbags outside the building will sell you and it will be for face value and not like $400!

Good luck at your next show.
