Anyone else think that Bob Seager's vocals remind you of Eddie's?
I'm supproized no ones ever mentioned it so I thought I would. Whenever I hear Seager, It reminds me of Ed's Snarling.

I can see a small - very very small (almost microscopic!) - resemblance between the two. But Ed, in my opinion, is WWAAAYY more soulful than Bob Seger.

  • With the song "Turn the Page" I definitely hear the similarities. I always thought Eddie would sound good singing The Animals "House of the Rising Sun". That would be an awesome cover because his voice reminds me of Eric Burdon's voice sometimes. Also, I think Stone would sound great doing the Lovin Spoonful's "What a day for a day dream" but that's a different story.

    Bob Seger???

    Fuck No!!

Bob Seger sounds like he's shitting out a cinder-block when he sings.
  • I don't understand how people can love Pearl Jam and Ed, but then be completely disgusted by Bob Seger, he has great music and so is his voice.

  • Bob is the man. Put on one of the top five concerts I have ever been too.
I don't know how much resemeblance there is between he and ed, never occured to me, but maybe. As for Ed being more "soulful".....I would say nay to that

Eddie is a more aggressive version of Jim Morrison I reckon.

    I like that description.

If you strain reeeeaaaaallly hard you can hear Seager in some of PJ's work. But I don't think it is an easy comparison.
  • Bob Seger is a great performer and an awesome singer. You really can't make many comparisons of him to Eddie V. I always thought that Nothingman was remininiscent of Seger's ballad style, though.
From the mid-seventies through the mid-nineties there were 3 great American singer song writers, Seger, Springsteen, and Petty. They dominated large scale, stadium rock in America, and rightfully so.
I urge anyone to listen to Live Bullet, Night Moves, and Beautiful Loser, to hear Bob Seger at his best.

I think Pearl Jam should cover this song. It would sound a million times better than than shitty Metallica version.

My father doesn't know much about PJ but heard them over my house one day. he asked who this was, so I told him. He said, "Huh, kinda sounds like Bruce Springsteen a little bit."
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I'm a big Bob Seger fan and I do see some similarities. I'd like to hear PJ cover "Feel Like a Number."
  • Bob Seger to my father is what Pearl Jam is to me.

I saw Seger in concert a year or so ago. Was great.
  • Not a big fan...but, he is one of those people that songs have gotten into my head through osmosis and I know all of the words...against my will. Strange how that happens.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

Bob Seger Sucks Purple Dog Balls.

Cut the Mullet, Turn the Fucking Page, And Shit out that Fucking Cinder Block.

Eddie Vedder sounds nothing like Bob Seger.

Fuck...That's probably why I like Eddie Vedder so much...
BECAUSE HE SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE BOB SEGER!!!!

    Fuck Bob Seger.

"Turn The Page" would be a horrific cover choice. I'd rather Pearl Jam cover Bel Biv Devoe than that lame ass fucktard Seger.

Holy Suffering Bald Headed...Leave that shit to Kid Rock.

I dont mean the tone of their voices. And I know Ed is much more aggressive. But if your ever heard some seager songs, night moves for instance...Bob often makes the vocal sound that I can only describe as a snarl. That is really what im talking about bc the only other singer that does it is Eddie.
