Yet Another Membership Number Question...SORRY!!!

edited August 2009 in The Porch
I am really curious...since our member numbers do not change when people fail to renew...roughly how many people 'drop-off' every year? My number is 189xxx, I wonder what that is in real, current terms? Can anyone in the 10C give us a rough estimate? I would be interested to know if anyone somehow has an idea...

Thanks Everyone!

I wonder if they ever sneak in celebrities to the low numbers if they join now-a-days?

Celebrities don't join fanclubs.....they have their agents call PJ management for freebies.....

  • I also had a 10C membership number question, but didn't want to start a new thread. When I was looking at touringfans.net I was clicking on members and noticed that some people joined after me, but somehow have lower membership numbers than me. This confused me.

I'm not sure the join date on here are the same, as when someone joins the 10 Club. I know mine aren't the same. I joined the 10 Club before i joined this board.

yes you are right. the join date in your profile on here is when you joined the board not the 10c. i wish i joined the 10c in 05. i'd be in the 300's instead of my crappy 426,xxx number.

this board didn't exist in this form in 1998 though...
  • Isn't touringfans.net just people entering their own info on the site? If so, I would bet that the time people put that they joined the 10C may not be quite accurate.

So here is my take on things. Some of what I say is fact and some is conjecture.

Everyone is assigned a Ten Club number the moment they make their first purchase of anything Pearl Jam related from the Ten Club.

Soooo..... if you bought a hoodie in 2001, and then joined the Ten Club in 2006, you will have a 2001 Ten Club number.

So someone that bought a Ten Club membership in 2005 would have a 'worse' number than the guy with the hoodie who bought his membership in 2006. This is the fact part of this post.

    Now for the conjecture.

I think the number in the Ten Club is around 50 thousand strong. Or somewhere between 40K and 50K.

When this new site first was launched there was a place where it listed 40 something thousand screen names. This was in my estimation all the people who are in the club. I don't think you can locate that screen any longer.

    So my number is 184,XXX

I would gather there are roughly 15K to 25K people ahead of me in the club, although I would guess it is more skewed towards 15K..... But that is just a hunch.

    Hope this helps a bit.
