Philly's so bad they put a fucking TV show on A&E about it. Ridiculous.

    I've seen that!

We're in Chicago right now, and the parking here is quite shitty as well...

There's a marathon on right now. Brings back bad memories cause I've had my car towed in philly and have been to the lot to get it back. Happened last year. Was in Chinatown (actually the Troc) for a Yeasayer show. Parked on the street, put money in the machine and went inside. Came back out about an hour or so later to put more money in it and my car was missing. First thought that it was either towed or stolen. Decided to call the towing people and it was towed. I had parked in a handicap spot. I didn't see it at first (they had the handicap thing on a tree or something). Had to call a taxi and they took me there. Had to pay a handicap fine and the fee. I'll never forget that. Total was over $300 for that. :(

Seattle...some places $4.50/30 minutes and you are only allowed 2 hours on that STREET, so you can't just move your car up a few places and re-pay to park more.

Most just get a ticket and leave their car there all day...but now they just started booting cars who have more than 3 unpaid tickets. If you don't pay off tickets and pay the fee to get the boot unlock code, within 24 hours, your car is impounded. THEN you have to pay storage and impound fees on top of everything else.

I seem to always be able to find street parking fairly easily.

During Seahawks/Mariners games...garages (close to the stadiums) charge between $40-60 for parking. We just pay $20 and walk 10-15 blocks.

40-60 to park? That's the highest I have ever heard for a single event. :o

and it's only the beginning of the season...come summertime, the price will go up.

We parked 6 blocks from the stadium, and paid $0.97 on the street.

I'd give the worst little city for parking award to our own Placerville, CA. Ive had several customers ask me to explain to them how the parking system in town works. I tell them, "Sure, if you got an extra 15 minutes I'll explain it as best I can although no one here really fully understands how it works." I get some pretty strange looks.

Really? You can park in the new underground garage next to the new Yankee Stadium abortion for 20. Hopefully the Steinbrenners don't see this thread and see they're leaving money on the table. :fp:

Every major city is like this except Charlotte and Washington. Somehow I always find free parking in those cities that is right by where I'm going.
