There Will Be Blood

Ultimately 2007 had so many great movies come out that were just top notch, Into The Wild, Juno and of course There Will Be Blood.
I think, the movie stands as a modern day classic, and contains in it, most likely the greatest performance by an actor, of all time. Topping Deniro's classics, and both Hoffman actors films and Pacino's flicks. And thats certainly saying alot, since all those actors are some of the greatest of all time.
I think Paul Thomas Anderson just really hit it out of the park. The guys a genius. And the entire cast is flawless, some of the best talent in the buisness. I think when you have people like that come together and work together, I think its the Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods effect. Playing with those guys, or against them, elevates your own game.
Daniel Day Lewis gives the greatest acting performance in history. I have said it before and will say it again, he achieved something pretty extrodinary. There is no serperation, its not, "Oh hey look its Daniel playing Daniel Plainview in this film". Its "wow, thats Daniel Plainview, the real daniel plainview playing himself in the film".
The film deserved to win best picture. I never really understood why there was this del between Blood and No Country. In Blood, every single actor gave the best performance of their career, actors and director included. With No Country, was it really the Coen's best film? Did any of the actors in that film give mindblowing performances?
This film was dark, disturbing and unbelieveably interesting.
Honestly, in acting school, they should show this film, and leave it at that.
Want to know what it takes to be an actor, how actors should inhabit their characters? Watch the film...

If you haven't seen this - get it now.
I agree, I thougt DDL was very good, easily the best part of the movie, but I thought he was better in Gangs of New York.
I'm going to agree... I thought the movie was ok, but it didn't stand out really at all to me.
I'll also disagree with:
Daniel Day Lewis is a great actor and seems to always give great performances, but he is unique, and I never lost sight of the fact that it was Daniel Day Lewis playing this character.
I guess it's like any art.... 10 people can hear a song or see a movie or play, and walk away with 10 different opinions.

Glad some of you guys liked it.
I still think his performance in Gangs of NY is one of the best performances ever.
Yeah, he was GREAT in Gangs of New York.
