IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said the “extremely complex, difficult” test has been started but that the results were not expected for weeks.
how difficult is it to see if it's an inny or an outie? :?

+1. Extremely disturbing.
...I don't know, just wow. If "it's" name was something like Brandonlina or Michaela or something like that it would be really funny.

If she's transgender, then it's up in the air.
when she was born the doctors probably gave the parents a choice of making their transgender child a boy or a girl. The parents then choose and the doctor will "make" them that sex.
So she is probably a transgender child who was chosen to be a female and raised as a female but ended up having predominately male characteristics.

the counter argument to that is that athletics are about physical attributes and achievements as opposed to physcological/emotional upbringing. If you're neither male class or female class, but your physical attributes are predominately male then you should be classified as a male.
She has a narrow man's pelvis. I can't see birthin' a baby out of that!

I'd be fine if at birth a DNA shows either XY or XX, and that's the classification that determines your sex for life, whatever plumbing changes are made later.
With sports, it also seems like women's leagues are "inferior", just by the way the rules are. EG: Why are women allowed to play in the PGA, but men aren't allowed to play in the LPGA? If a woman is "too good" to play with in the Ladies' league, then and only then she gets a chance to play with the men? Isn't that a blatant double standard? (I don't follow sports, but I recall this happening a few years ago)

Apparently there's no truth in the rumour that suspicion was raised when during an interview she was scratching her balls.
