As Eddie said this year at MSG I,"after intense negoitiation",I was able to convince my wife to let me bring our eight year old daughter (born August 1) to the show. The whole story is magical in its own. We recieved the tickets for free from a fellow PJ message board member who had a post where he was offering them up to the first person that IM'ed him. Lucky me,I was that person. After talking to him he told me he would overnight the tickets to me. And sure enough the tickets, which he had purchased directly from the venue, arrived at my house at 11:00 A.M. the next day! Anyway I'm so glad my wife caved in and is allowing me to bring her to the show,(I saw the N.Y. I show and it was magical!)as I know she will really enjoy it! She spends alot of time listening to PJ music and Eddie's "Into The Wild" album! We will be in the first balcony,so if you see us,stop and say,"Hi". This is my daughter's very first show (boy will she be spoiled for life)!! Oh,and a HUGE shout out of,"Thanks" to the PJ fan that gave us these tickets!!

Yay, that's quite an awesome first experience for her, I bet! Introduce her to good music now and hopefully she'll avoid the terrible pop music that all the little kids like these days.

Should be fun, Ed isn't real loud but bring ear plugs for her. I will never forget sitting down at a NASCAR race 5 rows from track and some idiot brought his 5 and 3 year old boys with NO ear plugs. Kids started crying in about 2 minutes until we gave them some earplugs.

Have fun, will be a time you and her remember forever.

Get to your seats early, maybe the "ticket fairy" will bring you guys to the front row, especially since you have a kid:)

I brought My 8 year old to see him in San Diego - his 1st show. Definitely bring ear gear - esp. for Liam. He was able to handle Ed for the most part.
It would have been a magical night if it wasn't for the Cali/NY time difference...poor guy was shot by 10pm. But it was incredible - 3rd row!! Thanks 10C! He was amazed to see Ed so close in person.....

It is really a good 1st concert experience b/c it is low key. Have a blast!!!!!

I was HOPING Ed spotted my guy being so close, but he didn't - it was too dark.

That is sweet. I wanted to take my daughter (7) but the damn tickets cost $95 a piece after all the Ticketbastard fees, and my wife wasn't about to give up her 10C seat :) It should be GREAT. Have fun!

P.S.- Hopefully Ed doesn't do a similar comedic, yet vulgar "Badass Motherfucking ukele" bit like in NY2? or was that Newark?

Good stuff man, I've seen more than a few dads and moms with little kids at Dropkick Murphys shows, so I'm sure you'll be better than ok at Eddie's solo show. Lets just hope for your sake,he doesn't sing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOzCn7hEtrs

I took my 9 yo son to the show in Newark and he loved it!! He knows alot of PJ songs and the ITW soundtrack so he was able to follow along pretty well. I'm still trying to convince him it's time to take off the EV t-shirt we got at the show (he's been wearing it since Thursday!). It's good that we all are doing our part in bringing in a new generation of PJ fans! Enjoy the show!!

    kudos to you for
1)actually taking your daughter- you're one cool dad (coming from a teenager, its a huge compliment :) ).
    2) having her listen to QUALITY music. we need to get youth away from jonas brothers and miley cyrus, its poison to the ears!! i think for the most part, i've succeeded in getting my sister away from that crap. thank god my dad did that to me- he introduced me to all the greats- the beatles, the who, led zeppelin, guns n roses, jimi hendrix, ac/dc from when i was 2!

im sure she'll have a great time!
and hey, it can't hurt to bring a cute kid along- hopefully ed will see her!

My daughter and I actually got to meet Ed Vedd backstage, where we got some awesome pics with him, he autographed my PJ shirt, and gave my daughter his hair tie. Then he called out for her during the show, and her and I sat on stage with Eddie while he sang "Forever Young" to her. Lastly he gave her his guitar pic and a hug for the road!! What an amazing experience we both shared!! The crowd of 3,000 singing "Happy Birthday" to her with Ed was also amazing!!! THANK YOU Ed for your hospitality (you are truely an amazing man)!!!!

What a magical night for Jenna - congratulations! Are you going to post the pictures you took backstage online somewhere? After that frantic van chase, it would be cool to see your reward for all that patience.

Tell her my little dog Petunia misses having someone to carry her around :)

That is just fantastic! Another heart-warming story made possible by a man that truly seems to care about his fans. I read your post from yesterday and was wondering if this was you two on stage. I love hearing these stories, congratulations on an unbelievable night that will surely stay with your family forever! And may she stay forever young!

That's such a great story. It's a night I'm sure you both will remember and talk about together for a very long time. It was great that you got to share that evening with each other.
