Dumb Computer Question

I'm working on a story and I have it saved to my desktop. I am very anal about saving so I am constantly clicking the save icon at the top of the document, a lot of times without even noticing. Anyway, every time I click save, the document moves around the desktop. I finished working tonight and saw the document is off the desktop screen. I was still able to save it and email it to myself, but does anyone know how to get it back so I can see it on the desktop?

    sounds like your just doing a save .. not a save as .. do a save as on the desktop .. then just do your saves seems like it would stay there .. sorry kinda confusing ... ;)

    right-click on the desktop and click "auto arrange" under the "arrange icons by" menu

    you probably have too much stuff saved on the desktop and it has gone off the screen.
    need to navigate to it in your profile if you cannot find it by re-arranging the screen.

    Yeah your icons are likely set on arrange by date so if you saved it today it would move to the beggining or the end of the order of the icons. The autoarrange should do the trick.
