Toronto Debuts?

Thus far, it seems as though each show is getting its share of debuts for this tour, and while I was hoping for Release to open Toronto on Friday, it looks unlikely now. That said, still holding out hope for the following 09 tour debuts on Friday night (in order of preference):

1) Crown of Thorns
2) Breath
3) You Are
4) Thin Air
5) Brain of J
6) Love Boat Captain

What debuts would you want to see? What do you think the chances are of any of the above? I think it's almost a lock to see Brain of J, as it was apparently on the setlist at tonight's London show. Outside of that, who knows???

They're hopefully going to play In My Tree. It's come up at least once in the sound check, but it still hasn't been played.

given the potential for thunderstorms, it might be a safe bet to say we're looking at Wash being played,...

If the thunder storms do happen, what are the chances that the show will be canceled?
  • It would take a hell of a lot more than a thunderstorm to cancel the show. Many bands have played through horrible weather at the Molson Amp and it's always 'rain or shine' there. Don't think the boys are afraid of a little thunder and lightning, do you? :);)

I heard a few weeks back that they sent everyone who was on the lawns back to their cars during a major lightning storm prior to the Nickleback concert at the Amphitheatre. I think we'll be ok on Friday night, 50% chance of rain, still plenty of time to turn it around.

Wash is a good call, forgot about that one...

Wow, good point - Jeremy - how have they not played this one yet on the tour?

Baba would be nice...hard to beat the last time they did it at the Amphitheatre however, amidst fireworks in the background...

I could also see some Neil influence...RITFW is probably a given...Fuckin Up would be better...maybe Harvest Moon?

I was thinking the same thing.. some Neil influence.. or perhaps NEIL HIMSELF :D

But yeah those fireworks were awesome... I had no idea it was going on until I started wondering what the band was all looking at :)

Whipping is good during a rain storm. "Don't need a raincoat I'm already wet!"

If I had tickets to Nickelback I would hope for a cancellation.

    Cinnamon Girl,
full band, full version, bring it. Years and years of teases and tags on I Got Shit in Toronto. Time to bring the whole thing! lol. i doubt it will happen, but it will make me poop my pants if they do.

some of the who songs and the new stuff and brother would make me plenty happy though. will take any debuts though too.

Well, seeing as they have already broken out:

    Release
    Immortality
    Present Tense
    Rearviewmirror
    Glorified G &
    HTI

I would see my way clear to forgive them if they played any or all of:

    Red skeeter
    In my tree
    Inside Job
    Smile

Just play your whole damn catalogue and that way I won't miss a thing.

I'd love to hear Red Mosquito. It is a very unappreciated song. One of my favourites.

Heard it at my first ever show back in '96 and have gone 0 for 30 since. Hopefully I will get it once over the string of shows I am hitting this summer/fall...

    Oceans to open.

It is the only regular opener to not show up yet. They are flying across the ocean to get to Toronto. Release was played at the last show in London, and it opened the last PJ show at the Molsen amp in 2003. Wash and HTI should stay in the vault!

My only hope is that they take a look at the past setlists from 05 and 06 and that they try to play some songs that they didn't play during those shows.

And hopefully... I really hope that I'll finally be able to see them perform Tremor Christ live!!!!!! Honestly, that would be a killer!

I would NEVER have Nickelback tickets . . . even if I FOUND them, front row tickets, just sitting on the sidewalk I honestly still wouldn't go to the show.

Tremor Christ was awesome when I caught it in Boston 2003. If I could have scored tickets, I would have seen it at Camden in 2000. It's rare but not terribly rare. It's been played 12 less times than oceans, but hasn't been around nearly as long.
