It's not that far...maybe 1/2 hour depending on traffic.
google maps will serve you better than mapquest.

Located 20 miles (32 kilometers) northwest of downtown Chicago, O'Hare International Airport provides excellent transport links to Chicago by public transport, hire car or shuttle service. ORD Chicago Airport currently has four terminals, equipped with extensive and modern facilities and services. Recent upgrades at Chicago O'Hare Airport have included new amenities at the International Terminal 5 and an Airport Transfer Service, with major reconstruction work at Terminals 2 and 3 scheduled for completion by 2007.

    Like I said....

Thank you for the information. And yes, Google Maps nailed it down for me.

  • United Center is 1901 W. Madison Ave, Chicago, IL 60612
O'Hare Airport is ORD. (it used to be called Orchard Field, hence the ORD).

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=ORD&daddr=1901+W.+Madison+Ave,+Chicago,+IL+60612&hl=en&mra=ls&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=55.148262,90.351563&ie=UTF8&ll=41.932933,-87.781792&spn=0.204837,0.352936&z=12

Be aware that 90 (Kennedy) has "Express Lanes". They begin after you pass Lawrence Ave (where 94 joins in), and are on the far left. If you take them, you will not be able to exit at Ogden as the map suggests.

A cab ride will be around $40 to $50. Cabbies are currently charging a fuel surcharge since gas is so expensive. If they charge you the fuel surcharge, they must have an orange sticker in the back telling you they are doing so. If they don't have the sticker/sign, they can't charge you the surcharge.

The CTA is an option as well. Take the Blue Line "El" from Ohare through downtown, keep going until the Illinois Medical District stop. This is at Damen. Exit there, walk three blocks north, and you'll see the UC. The train ride will be $1.75 each way.

    Hope this helps.

I was considering renting a car, but if the train is easy to navigate and cheap, then that's the route I'll probably go. I'm staying at the Hilton hotel at the airport.
