After hearing that Voodoo specifically blocks bands that play the festival from playing Houston, i will never, ever, attend. I'm not supporting the louisana economy when 3/4ers of their inhabitants make their dime off of the texas economy.

ACL was awesome... had a blast...great lineup... You should go just for Friday if you have the time this weekend... Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, Muse was amazing.

ACL blocks bands from playing the region for something like 9 months! I don't see what the difference is. Many major festivals do this.

ACL is a little different, because I saw Silversun in Dallas on Sunday 10/6, which was the night after they played ACL weekend 1. Also, QOTSA played at Verizon in Grand Prairie the same weekend as ACL.

I though I could hold out for a possible spring tour but decided a couple days ago that it would probably be unlikely they would come to Louisville. Luckily, my amazing hubby got us tix to OK City - see you guys soon!

The difference is that Austin is a 2 hour, 30 minute drive away, New Orleans is a 6 hour drive away on a good day, 8+ hours thursday thru Sunday when the population of Louisiana is returning from the work week in Houston. If it's shorter to drive (including logistics to and from airport, fucking around security, waiting at the gate, etc) than it is to fly, it's too far away to be putting a block on a city that is 7-10 times larger than yours.

Also, standard contract is 90 days, each side of the festival dates (so ~6 months total)... no where near 9. Also, the block is usually only for headlining bands, sometimes the sub-headliners, but not normally (i.e. QOTSA).

And frankly, the Houston economy unjustifiable pumps more than enough money into the state of Louisiana without putting a block on shows in my town for a not top-tier festival (i.e. Coachella, Lolla, Bonaroo, or ACL... everyone else is just a "wanna be").
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Congratulations Dallas. 24 hours until Pearl Jam. 10 years....wow.

Looking forward to hear what Ed has to say about the decade between shows. It is freakin' Dallas and not Charlotte. He should write a song just for you Texans.

Time to restart my Louisville campaign. Surely they're going to do more US dates since Matt Cameron has decided not to tour with Soundgarden next year, right, right??

    Anyway, COME TO LOUISVILLE :D
