    This date is F1 weekend in Austin... I have several very good friends who want to come into town for the event.

    If that's the only date in Texas, I will be pissed.
    Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

    I was at last year's F1 event in Austin and it was a complete blast. That weekend is also a home game for UT so Austin will be packed. The Friday events aren't that special, it's the Saturday qualifying and Sunday race which are the best in my opinion. Realistically anyone could come to Dallas and then make the trip down on Saturday morning or late after the show, and maybe stay on the outskirts of Austin since there won't be any hotels within 50 miles of Austin with rooms available.

    where is the 11/15 Dallas rumor coming from?

    At this point are we assuming that PJ's "We anticipate the band's Voodoo performance to be the final show of that series of dates." announcement has run its course? Plans change, could have all been pushed back to accomodate the album release schedule.

    But, it seems odd to space Dallas and New Orleans 2 weeks apart when they are relatively close.

    the problem will be that I will literally have 3 or 4 good college buddies arriving with their girlfriends on the days leading up to F1 weekend, and planning on visiting me prior to going to austin. I don't want to say, "Hey guys, I know you made plans to visit me on the way to austin for a good party, but I'm going to throw a monkey wrench in the works and drive to Dallas for a Pearl Jam show".... not very host-like of me...
