I had my hen/bachelorette party on Saturday... the theme, due to my honeymoon, was The South...
*BUMP!!*
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
Know what would be cool...if there was a 10C Mardi Gras krewe!!! Some parades allow buy ins...we could hand out club shaped beads and wear the Binaural robot face for our krewe mask. I know, very expensive but It would be fun...

Ed's at Bridge School the 22nd.. maybe the weekend after?
At jone's Hall in Houston?
Hey Ed - why don't you just play a southern solo tour like you did for the REST OF THE F'IN COUNTRY!!!!
Don't know what you guys would say about this, but if it's Ed w/o the band...count me out.
I'm not spending unless the whole crew comes.
PJ20 weekend cemented this for me.

that's understanding. I saw Ed in Atlanta for both nights and as great as they are, there's nothing like a full PJ show

I want to see ed solo.... everyone I know who has seen it has said it's an experience... and the Water on the Road blu-ray only made me want to see it even more...
That being said, I'm not traveling to see Ed solo... I will travel to see the band every now and then (it's not going to be once a year anymore )... but ed solo... nope.... he's needs to play in the south, and share the love.... it is not fair to the faithfull that the entire rest of the country got a date on his tour, except those of us here.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Same here. I can't keep making my yearly vacation about traveling to see them anymore. Unless they go to Vegas in June..

I was just @the Cobb Energy PAC for 2 nights of Wilco last week. It's a really nice room!
Caught myself wondering what it might've been like to see Ed there. But then my mind quickly jumped to why not PJ there? Or back at the Fox Theatre?
If the problem is that they can't sell out southern arenas, they should just downsize the venue capacity.
Anyway. I''m still not traveling to see Ed solo. I might check out some bootlegs, but that's it. Gimme the whole band.

The thing is, they usually do pretty well in the south. I don't understand it either.
WPB 08 - very nearly sold out. Only some lawn seats left - hell, even PJ20 had some lawn seats left unsold
Roo 08 - at the time, they were announcing record breaking ticket sales (not sure how they did since 08) Columbia, SC - not sure if it soldout, but the place looked pretty near packed
Ed solo in ATL - both nights were soldout
PLAY the SOUTH!

Pffffffft.... if you went to the shows in Canada you'd know that the band clearly could care less about selling out the arena.... Toronto was packed to the brim, yes.... but there were plenty of empty seats in Ottawa and Hamilton in the upper deck. Both shows were not 360 degree venues and were visibly far from sold out (also keep in mind that Hamilton is less than an hour drive from Toronto, in the most densly populated region of all of Canada)....
With huge cities like Dallas, Houston, Miami, Pheonix, and Atlanta in the southern area of the country... well... ?
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
