Green Disease and You Are

Im not a big RA fan, and i can understand the hate these two get since they dont sound PJ at all, but for some strange reason i love the hell out of these two weird little songs. and whats stranger is i've liked them from the start.

I think GreenDisease succeeds at everything The Fixer fails at for me. its fun AND the lyrics are top notch.

I guess people hate You Are's lyrics, but to be honest i was too busy digging the crazy music to notice.
Plus, i love the Smiths.

i have a crazy theory that RA is really their first 80s inspired album, not Backspacer, and these two are definately 80s.

    You Are is a song you would think PJ cant pull off live, but they actually NAIL it live everytime. I know almost every PJ song sounds better live, but you are sounds insanely better live.

    I personally just like the guitar...the idea of a guitar run through a drum machine intrigues me.

    I love the music to You Are but some of the lyrics make me cringe. Green Disease has always been ok in my book.

    YOU ARE is awesome, I've loved it from the start too.....I had never heard a guitar like that in my life. When they time the guitar part with the lights like the 03 tour on LATG dvd? The best!

    Green Disease is great one too. To be honest I really like Riot Act a lot.

    You are is the coolest song on that cd and so is green disease (great live)...I do like help Help (Chris Squire from YES: Tormato Album/CD) Vocoder sound is cool!!! Here was my previous post list of songs I want to hear live other than No Way or Sad Must hear NO WAY THIS TOUR!!!

    i just happened to watch that dvd last for the first time in a few years (getting psyched for the upcoming shows!) and couldn't agree more about the cool psychedelic groovy vide during You Are. i thought it was one of the high points of the show. love that song.

    You Are is an awesome song...got a cool phsycadelic, dark sound to it that i've never heard them recreate. A guitar sound that innovative needs to be played live more often. Can't believe people don't like it, especially live...the live version when ed starts to sing "keepin us close...so close" just kicks ass to me. i'll take that on a chi setlist.

    Have heard it live once and would KILL to hear it again. Why the hell it gets so little love is beyond me. I love this song!!!! You're right, it sounds great live. Maybe the band got wind of people not liking it and decided not to play it anymore.
