I can't believe the negative crap that gets said around here. I'd like to be able to visit this place knowing there's 10c members who have some positive insight.

Stuff like the CONSTANT "Riot act sucks" "The Fixer sucks" etc. really is a drag to see.

This is a gentel request to keep this nonsense off the forums.

I agree. It's a good thing to be able to discuss constructively about what our dislikes and likes are but it is getting some what out of hand at times. For the most part though, folks are like minded and positive and excited.

I agree that this is a fan forum, and for fans to discuss one of their favourite bands in the worlds.

However, remember that opinions, even on such a great band as PJ, do vary, even amongst hardcore fans. So, firstly, fans are allowed to not like a record or song that a band puts out, and secondly there is nothing wrong with a bit of discussion.

Okay, so some people do complain a bit much, but that's what people do, it's part and parcel of music, and life.

Then add I AM Mine, 1/2 full, ARC, Get Right (which is incredible live) there is no way to defend RA as a bad record.

I do f'in love the fixer! Backspacer samples thus far sound amazing. It's been far too long.

Yeah that happens to me too.
All you need to do is scroll all the way back up and hit the little Porch link at the top of the thread under the "edit your profile" bar.
Or scroll all the way to the bottom and hit GO on the Forum jump Menu.
It sends u right back to the porch.

I used to get that all the time as well with Internet Explorer. I now use Firefox and don't have this problem anymore.

I think you're taking this thing a bit too seriously. Doesn't mean that comment on something that you actually don't like that thing. If it was the case, might as well change this Forum for the "Communist" forum!!! Say that the Party's great, that the Party's good!!! I certainly don't want a bunch of robots saying the same thing all the time...

And that's pretty much what I was trying to say. I enjoy seeing different comments about different subjects. I don't think that at one point was I ever disrespectful of someone on this board.
BUT, I thought it was important to say that we can't all agree on one subject and that, sometime, people on this board will have different positions on a subject. We can't all love, for example, Riot Act!!! Kidding...!

I have posted on this topic in the past and usually just get told to fuck off or made fun of. The truth with this forum or any other, is that it is here to represent a passionate fan base. Whether its PJ or Petty or a movie forum etc. Behind the curtain of the net, people hide in annonymity. Therefore there are no tact or manners present in most posting. And in todays instant gratification world, there is now an automatic sense of entitlement that was once reserved for five year olds at Zellers. I have been talked to on here in a fashion that would never happen in public. Ever. If we were standing in line at the merch table, would you swear at me and insult me to get your point across? not always. there's jerks in real life too.

I liken it to the origins of the band when "grunge/alternative" music was the preferred sound for America's "angry youth". Even though most of us are in our 30's now, many are still angry.

I am very happy with most of what the band does. I'm not a huge fan of incorporating politics into performances, but I have a lot of respect for anyone who encourages Americans to exercise their right to vote. I also would prefer the ticket prices to be raised about 50% or so, but I'm sure i am in the minority there.

There always seems to be many threads started where "fans" feel entitled. I've actually seen people upset with Pearl Jam for not touring to fit the most economical flight schedule of fans looking to follow the band. You can please some of the people some of the time, but you're always going to upset the group of fans that feel that the band owes them something.

Whats funny about this thread and the board these days is that there is so many new people. A lot of them don't know that disliking Riot Act is a "FANCH75 Specialty & Trademark" around here!
