just looking for suggestions on what you think i might do with about 100 pearl jam shows i've collected on vhs over the years. i am moving and don't really have the space to store them... took me a long time to put the collection together so i can't bring myself to tape over them or throw them out. no one uses vhs anymore and the show that are of higher quality have already been transferred to dvd/vcd.

any suggestions?

    Yeah,send them to me :D
  • you know... i was thinking that if anyone coming to the seattle show wanted to meet up at take them off my hands i would be happy to give them to someone who will provide them a good home.

or... if someone wants to pay the postage, i'd be happy to send them.

How much material would you consider worthy of copying to dvd?And on the ones you did transfer is the sound quality any good?I mostly only have official recordings,I would love to get my hands on some of that stuff.

the ones on dvd/vcd are prettyt good quality, the later ones used the official bootlegs for the audio. the vhs tapes are hit and miss. some aren't the best quality, but like the indo '93 show...just great to see. it seems like the really old stuff 91/92 and the most recent stuff 2000 forward are the better quality shows (just speaking of video quality)...i think many were done in hi 8.

as far as dvd quality... maybe 25-30 shows.

i can't really pick thru them at this point and would just be interested in giving them to someone as a whole unit...then you can pick through them for what you want ...what you don't, pass on to someone else who might enjoy them.

    ;)

donate them to wishlist foundation, imo.

i thought about that, but they are all bootlegs. doesn't wishlist only want "official" merchandise?
  • I have some old vhs's as well, and luckily my neighbor works for the local school system and was able to convert them for me to DVD for me. If you can find someone to do it, I would suggest getting em switched over before getting rid of them. At least a couple anyways.
