What is the GIANT black bat all about?

So I was wondering, at Eddie's solo shows he has this giant black bat on stage as part of his props. I also noticed it on stage at the Philly 2003 Spectrum show. What does it mean?
p.s. can't wait for Philly '09! :D

    I believe it is a stuffed memento from infamous Eddie bat hunting expedition

    Not positive, but I think it's actually part of a costume that the lead singer from the Frogs normally wore during their shows and was given to Eddie to wear when he sat in with them when the Frogs opened for PJ on the '95 tour. Can anyone back me up on this?
