so i have been searching the net for the last week trying to find a leaked version of Pearl jam's forthcoming album Backspacer. A few days ago i thought i found a copy but after i downloaded it it just ended up being a copy of ten with the track titles changed to match the backspacer track listing. Has anybody found a copy out on the net that is legit and could you PM me a link or post any info you can in this thread i would appreciate it as the anticipation of this album is killin me. I still intend to purchanse the album when it comes out to support the band I like so many of you i am sure would love to hear these new tracks. any help would be greatly appreciated

Oh, I know how the music industry worksI just can't believe that someone would come here and ask for an illegal download.

yea actually i wouldnt put it past people to post it here as i have seen other albums up here when they have been leaked0 -
Why would you want to ruin it? A leaked version through your computer isn't going to be the same sound or experience as it will be when you get the album they way it's meant to be recieved. I guess it's not the same for everyone but for me, I like to listen to th album on a stereo or away somewhere, that way its creates a memory and becomes an experience and not just a file on my hard drive. I know some can't wait but for me, I'd rather have it in Sept.0

I like the excitement and anticipation...I wouldn't want to hear the leaked version...if it's only half an hour long, I've heard too much already!"No way to save someone who won't take the rope, and just lets go..."0

I think alot of people have gotten used to leaks as part of the release cycle. Albums have been showing up on the internet in leaked form for over 10 years now.... It's a part of the release cycle. Announcement, single, leak, release. lol.
As for me, I listen to most of my music walking to and from work on a portable mp3 player. I rarely get the chance to sit down and put on a cd anymore. I know cd's sound better (And vinyl's even better) but mp3's are darned convenient. Most leaks these days are high(er) bitrate mp3's than what you saw a year ago.
I won't condone or trash people that listened to leaked mp3's. We have somewhat moved into the portable music generation (I hope lossless picks up once free space becomes less of an issue), but portable players is where alot of people find the time to listen to music, so waiting to unwrap a new album becomes less of an issue.0 -
I think people are forgetting that this isn't just another major label release. There are far fewer people able to get their hands on this to leak it. I guess we will see if it happens, but by releasing the album on their own, PJ has cut out a lot of leaking middle men.0
