I just got back from the Aston Villa Vs Wigan game in the English Premier League, lost 0-2, but the highlight of the whole game, was during half time I couldn't believe my ears. Me and the other half were excitingly talking about the upcoming gigs at Manchester and London when THE FIXER kicks in over the stadium speakers!!!!!!!! :D:D

Shows how badly the Villa played today tho as it was genuinely the best part of the day when The Fixer was on!

It'll be interesting to see if they play it every game, cos its usually the same songs they play all season.

It works surprisingly well as a sports song (fight to get it back again) but basically made my day that someone must like Pearl Jam who is in control of the music at the stadium!!!! 8-)

Watched that game on TV but didn't hear it. If they replay it I will try and listen for it.

    Thanks for the info

I am from the U.S., but have been to quite a few premiership/league one matches. I am always surprised at the quality of music I hear! In the U.S., they play horrible music, but at UK matches, I have heard Oasis (Man City, obviously...thats the only band they played at their megastore!). The Doves recorded an instrumental version of "Pounding" which was played before the match I saw.

At a Fulham match, they played several Clash songs...and at West Ham, they played a Billy Bragg song!

    It's everywhere now.

I was just sitting on my porch and a mini van being driven by some soccer mom was blaring the Fixer.
