Manchester GA standing

Sounds like the organisation at Rotterdam was spot on. They should use the wristband only area for all GA shows. Only experienced it once in Dublin 2006 and it was awesome, went for a pee about 15 minutes before PJ hit the stage and strolled back to same spot I had been standing before. Am I hoping too much that they will be doing this at the MEN, the 10 club email stated that there would be early entry for members, is there a chance?

  • very much doubt it. Was the same i Paris..we got in 30 mins before GA and then they just piled in behind us which didn't really work as it just caused much pissed offness with us 10c ticket holders because alot of the GA people were tanked up and wanting to get our spots..pretty dissapointing really

i can only hope that is will be seggregated but after Paris..i doubt it.

Can anyone remember how bad early entry was at paris aswell?...they moved the queue forward, then back then split us up into male/female separate lines which pissed us off because many people like me had come with their wives/girlfriends..which meant i had to run tot he front whilst my wife followed 5 mins later...still have nightmares over how great the french security was :D

    leeds 26/08/06....electric
    paris 11/09/06.....crushed...but estatic
    wembley 18/06/07.....oh yes

Ohhhh I remember the shambles that was Paris. Security was assholes and had no idea how to organise things. We got talking to another couple and it was their first show so they were a tad nervous about being in the GA crowd. Once we were split into male and female lines they got a bit more worried and so did we. What a crappy way to organise queues.

Paris was by far the worst crowd experience I've had at a show, some of the fans were utter asses and security sucked too.

Manchester probably won't have a separate area for 10c members but we can always hope!

always nice to hear from another Paris 'survivor'... :D we were at the front crushed to f*ck and i gather everyone just behind us had a pretty awful time. My wife had to be pulled out by the 1st encore and i was so exhausted i nearly passed out singing to Black...crazy times

heres a pic of after the gig...note the dry patc on my knee..the only dry patch on my whole body :D

just asked the question about difference in emails between rotterdam/manchester from 10c in the Rotterdam thread and they said the emails are identical so theres hopefully a chance of seggregation

    ^^ haha that's a brilliant picture :)

We were about 15 rows back which is still pretty close when everyone is so crushed and pushing forward. We had a group of 3 drunken French buffoons and they were moshing and being idiots before the MMJ even came onstage. As PJ came on, they pushed way forward out of our way but we could see them causing problems for everyone around them.

Then there were the idiots trying to just grab random people and pick them up in the hope they would crowd surf. Smart idea

On a positive note, Nijmegen in 2007 had a segregated area for 10c and a few GA which worked wonders. There was no crushing at all, we all had room to move and dance. It was such a lovely atmosphere where everyone had room to rock out. I'm crossing my fingers the fans in Manchester will be pleasant too. They were fine in London 2007.

  • yeah it looked good at wembley 07, we were in the seats just behind the 10c section.

It just didn't make sense how those of us who bought the 10c tickets and waited from 3pm then got a load of nutters and knobs let loose on us to try and crush us. It was funny and sad at the same time when guys from the uk came in and basically asked this french guy to move and he just did it....it was like 'the wallet inspecter' scam

my wife had a proper barney with a huge irish lad who was wrecked. He wanted to get 'all the girls away from the front' she just turned round and verbally kicked shit out of him....he was no where to be seen 2 songs later! haha.

yeah heres hoping for less fights and crushing

I'm being optimistic and choosing to believe that we won't have problems. We're not queuing up all day so won't be right at the front among the madness, so hopefully a few rows back will be good.
