I know they announced that bootlegs will be produced for the backspacer tour, but was wondering if anyone knew anything about a possible bootleg for the calgary show on august 8th 2009.
hope there is a boot though for all of the shows- even though I know it won't happen

I hope there is a boot at this show because I can guarantee you PJ made some new fans that day (judging from reading local message boards in the area). Lots of comments how this was hands down the best show they have ever seen and now a large amount of talk stating how they are going to the Vancouver show now. Then the funny comments about people saying they did not know hlaf the songs but they were awesome regardless. Such an impression they left on people after Virgin Fest.
That is the great advantage PJ has playing random festivals is that everyone knows PJ but broke up with them circa 1995 and at a chance festival get to see in PJ how amaazing their live performances are. I love seeing non-hardcore (or pure casual fans) get excited after seeing them, make sme happy just imagine how the band would feel! That is why that performance on the 8th stood out the band looked extremely lively with the out pour of energy in the crowd, just a fucking great show.
It was a great show and it ranks very high on my show list, good energy, great crowd, band was having fun. I really hope they release a boot of this show as I want to re-live this memory again and again.

exactly! My facebook home page was filled with status updates from people saying 'best show ever'...I KNOW most of them were only casual fans, but went to the festival BECAUSE it was a festival...just wanted to party and spend some time outside....and left blown away by the PJ live experience. It's like sweet vindication for all the BS I've put up with from so many people for soooo long....
'they're still together?'....'why PJ? I mean they're ok, but....' etc etc
well... now ya know, fuckers

I'm guessing we'll know more about what's going to be available a la bootleg closer to the album release. I don't think they're going to sell these boots and have new content officially released before the album drops.
The email said "Bootlegs will be available for purchase within weeks of the show" I'm guessing weeks means September 21st.
i really would love this BOOT .........please..GREAT SHOW....
WANT TO HAVE IT FOREVER.....be my FIXER.....GIVE ME
THE CALGARY SHOW.....................BOOTLEG PLEASE
I hope they release it as well, it was a pretty intense show.
It took me a few songs to get into it (I think it took the band a few songs as well) but once they got it going they were on fire!
It was my first pearl jam GA show since the '98 memorial stadium show in seattle. It's a very different experience than seated shows. The fact that anyone can squeeze they're way to the front, probably alot of people who have never seen PJ, creates this insane energy.
It took me a while to get used to GA.. I was over on the left hand side of the stage, far enough back I wasn't really in the pit, but still got my head knocked off by the odd crowd surfer.. lol
the band seemed to feed off that energy too... I used to be an avid fan of GA (mostly because I could get closer to the stage that at seated 10c shows), then over the years I grew accustomed to seated 10c shows. I think the show reminded me of why GA used to be so insane, yet so awesome
the walk back up the hill and the fiasco getting out of the parking lot is a whole different story though. Who puts the parking lot at the top of a mini-mountain and the stage at the bottom, then has only two single lane road down? (both of which developed an accident and blocked traffic).. lol.
i really would love this BOOT .........please..GREAT SHOW....
