My brother who lives in Portland (well Vancouver, WA) was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) a little less than a year ago. He is now 95% paralyzed and in a power chair. If you have ever known anyone to have this disease then you know how cruel it is.

Anyways, if any of you are looking for something to do before the concert in Portland on the 26th...The ALS Association is having a WALK TO DEFEAT ALS that morning...Would love for you to come support the cause.

If you are feeling extra, extra generous you can donate $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00 or more to my brothers team! My brother's team is called the CANDILORA CADETS.

You don't have to donate - that is optional and up to you! But you can still sign up for the walk - it is only an hour and is 3 laps around a fairly small park.

Hope to see you all there!

I'm a regular ALS supporter... so sorry to hear about your brother. It is definitely a heartless, brutal disease.

If I go early enough (coming from Seattle), I'll definitely participate! Once my plans firm up, if I'm not going to be able to participate I'll check out the donation page. ;)

First of all, I just want to say that I'm really sorry about your brother. I'm gonna be coming from Seattle so if I'm there in time, I'd love to make it. Best of luck.

i'm doing the same thing in memory of my Father this November in Austin. i have a thread in the All Encompassing Trip forum.(search for "ALS Donation" in AET) maybe we could merge our threads & work on both walks together? i'd be more than happy to help you out! it's a tough disease & i know what you're going through....i'm here if you need to talk.
