My father stole his brother's ID and went into the Navy at the age of fifteen. Fought for three years during the Korean War era. Got his GED in the Navy. Came home to W.V. and became a coal miner. Self taught electrican among other certificates. He worked in the mines around 40 years until his health and age was a liability. He was diagnosed and fought for numerous years unsuccesfully. He is now dead and my mother is living on peanuts with no health insurance. The battle still wages unsuccessfully. I would love to see Pearl Jam or someone with a loud voice stand up for coal miners rights. Widows and orphans included. A benefit show right here in West By God Virginia would rock.
