How about making the 10/31 tickets a Laminated ticket or supplied in a plastic casing and string to wear around your neck as a souvenir for the final Spectrum show? that would be so cool.

This is an odd request... would you wear it out in public after the show? If not, what is the purpose?

Bling.... nothing says you're a badass more than a laminated pearl jam ticket around your neck.

to save it - if it is a regular ticket im pretty sure most will just jam it into our pockets and forget about it. was just an idea.

it has to look better than people wearing costumes - costumes on adults....

    how old are you?

thats the worst idea I've heard in a while.

Seeing the last show by a band at a dump of an arena has little impact on history.

might be a bad idea but you clearly are not from Philly if you don't understand the significance of the last show at the Spectrum.

is it a bad idea for people to collect posters? what is the difference?

c'mon.. the spectrum's been around for what, 5 minutes? it's not like they're closing out the roman coliseum, or the old yankee stadium (which are of course on the same level)..
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

they sell ticket holders for your neck at memorabilia stores and luggage stores. bring it to save your ticket.

i think the last show at any venue is big because it gives the band a reason to play as long as possible...yes..no..maybe?

    BEWARE!

I don't know if they're still printed this way, but when I used to work in arenas about 10 years ago, tickets were printed with a thermal printer. This means anywhere there's heat, you see black for printing. EG: If you apply heat to the entire ticket, the entire ticket turns black. One of our staff told me how he wanted to save an uber-rare ticket and he laminated it, and it turned black. I also own a frame shop, and IF the ticket survived the lamination process, you are permanently altering the ticket, and you can never get it back to it's original state.

I may recommend going to a store which has thin plastic cases like they used for rare baseball card, and buy one of those. You can remove the ticket at will, and no heat to possibly destroy the ticket.

America's Showplace in the 70s and 80s - has hosted every major act from Springsteen to Sinatra, 6 Stanley Cup Finals 4 NBA Finals, 2 Final Fours, etc. - much much more than an arena open for 5 minutes.

Heed the warning, I have sucessfully laminated some tickets, but it's fucked some other ones (my gorge tix :( )

I love special ticket stock tho, wilco tix for their ball park shows this year were special, as were nine inch nails fan club tix a few years back, the spectrum ticket for that show wad awesome.

As a framer, my best advice for keeping tickets (without framing them) safe and flat for a long time without special materials is just find an old thick book and put your tickets in the middle of it. Pull it out anytime you want to see it. ...and save them all in that book so you can find them easily. When you get a bunch... bring them to get framed somewhere! :D

yeah, this happened to my first PJ ticket. my friend decided to have our tickets laminated without my knowledge, and they are now black. oh well.

I do think it would be nice if the tickets had some art on them. The new Backspacer art would probably lend itself to ticket art quite well. I just saw a set of Phish tickets purchased through their fanclub and they look lovely. Far cry from the tickets I get for PJ shows which look like they could be from a minor league hockey game.

I have a bunch of awesome phish tix. Trouble is they come from music today and tn club would likely never sub out to them.
