Just a thought. I have to believe, after all these years, that the band really gets "up" for a select few shows (no disrespect, it's just human nature). Aside from a tiny venue (the Vic), a festival where they headline and can blow doors to an audience not all theirs (Bonroo), Seattle, and maybe the Garden (NYC), I have to think that playing the last show ever (if that is true) at the legendary Spectrum is going to be a truly special night. I am incredibly psyched to have tix and am expecting a show that will be talked about on this board for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any show is legendary. At least that is what I think. I'm just glad to be there.

I disagree. I went to 5 shows in 2008 (NYC I+II, Columbia, WPB, Tamp) and Columbia was the show I most enjoyed. PJ still consistently brings it! In 2005 you saw Ottawa receive an outstanding show, while the Toronto show was kinda blah. There are always sleeper shows out there where you don't expect to have one of those "special" shows, I've learned after 30+ shows that I don't need to travel to NYC or Boston to see a classic show. I'm still going to Philly 2009 though.

Ottawa was my first show. I walked in a casual fan, and by the time I left, they were my favourite band.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

True, I'll be happy for every single PJ show I'll ever see and keep fond memories of. I mean, even a mediocre show by their standards still knocks 99 per cent of all other bands' socks off...

  • same here. I use to be an occasional listener, that it until I went to Mansfield one and two last year. Now I'm hooked. It doesnt need to be the best show ever to be magic. Those weren't top shows by any means, compared to others, but it was enough that I am traveling 8+ hrs to Toronto and then 5 hrs to both philly 3 and 4. Id say every one has magic in a way, some more than other tho.
