SBE - Did anyone else think the crowd was unusually tall?!?

That was the tallest crowd I have ever been in!

I am 6ft, but I felt like one of the smaller people in that crowd!

yup - there were some real monsters there last night, still it was an amazing gig none the less :D
  • Without a doubt. Spoiled my night if I'm to be honest. Was next to the sound booth with a sea of heads as my only real view. Moved to the back which was a big, big mistake. A slanted roof and some more heads now interrupted the view. Coupled with the fact the sound doesn't really travel there. SBE is now officially my least favorite venue.

Maybe Brixton Academy should be on the list next time around.

The sound at Brixton is usually shocking! I stood towards the back, right next to the bar/mixing desk, and the sound traveled there just fine, plus it was perfectly balanced.

Did you stand at the bottom of the stairs on the left as you look at the stage?

I stood in the middle of the crowd, but I could only see the back of people's heads and arms, so moved to the bottom of the stairs on the left.

Been to that venue three times now and have officially decided it's crap.

The band were too low down and the crowd were far too tall and very, very few of them showed any consideration for others who could not see past them.

Selfishness has not been a traditional trait of PJ fans... :(

I thought that while in there. Much better venue than SBE...which is s**t.

yeh i know what you mean, not to take anything away from the show, it was great, but there were times i found it difficult to see and tried moving around a bit.

I was on the lower balcony monetoring the crowd all night. You guys were great. Lots of action going on just behind the first few rows and backwards!!

A bit disappointed to see the lame reaction to brother just to see it exlode on evolution shortly after. What was that??

Show was awsome. I dont think my position for the show could have been any better. Sound reached me nicely too!Front row lower balcony. Unobstructed views to everything. Will remember forever!

You guys got a taste of every show for me then :P 5ft 1 ... I usually spend most gigs looking at people's backs after my legs can't take standing on tip-toes trying to glimpse over their shoulders anymore

Was kind of nice to be 2nd balcony front row Mike side with an unobstructed view for this one 8-)
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
  • This is one of the reasons I never stand at gigs anymore if i'm given the choice. When there was only standing tickets at London in 2007 we had a great view until two gigantic people came and stood in front of us.

Yeah, I might not be able to see the whites of Vedder's eyes but at least I can see something :)

WSS! This is why I never stand anymore, too old to be pogo-ing up and down like a gummi bear to see a glimpse of the band.

At a venue like that the seats gave a great view anyway, really enjoyed the view from Tier 2!!

  • I'm 5'11 and struggled a bit, most of the gig I was fine but for the last 2 songs I was stuck behind to absolute giants who were both a head taller than me, how the 2 tallest guys in the venue ended up next to each other I will never know.

Couldn't see a thing all night, really spoiled it for me. Tried standing in different places, felt jealous of the guys in the seating areas! Tried one last push to the front at the end, got shoved back very nastily, but it sounded alright at least! Got to meet the band briefly afterwards anyway so worth the travelling!

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I am 6foot 1inch and everyone around me were like basketballers! I am sure I even saw the top of Ed's head once but as for Mike, I didn't see him at all!
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Paul has my number so I'm sure you'll find me at some point in Manchester or London. Hear you guys won't be making it to the Sunday drinks though :(

Yeah, I moved a couple of times to get a spot where I could vaguely see the band!

Great sound, but awful venue that was made worse by the freakishly tall crowd!

Totally agree with you I'm 6.1 and it was difficult to see anything but backs and heads....

Manage to see the band tough while jumping as high as I could :D
