Lets crank up the Philly PJ opener RUMOR MILL!!

And by rumor mill, I don't mean rumors about the usual suspects of Ted Leo, Ben Harper, Sleater Kinney, or any of those! This is a special event (especially the 31st) so NONE of the usual suspects can fit the bill. Fire away people!

    It will be Ted Leo. They had him open at MSG last time, and seeing as they're opening other shows... that's my bet.

    not sure about that, Ted Leo mentioned Toronto was a "one off" ... so, I think it's still debateable.

    I heard EV is opening solo...

    Just kidding. That would be too much over 4 shows, not that I'd complain about it.

    I don't see them undermining their own tour with a reunion of Soundgarden at one of the biggest shows of the tour.

    I think they should have Them Crooked Vultures open up. It's Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones just rocking out! Although that might wear us out a bit before the show! Their new album drops a week before the shows, perfect timing! :D

    Radio 104.5 in philly kept spreading that rumor more and more. My guess is either Soundgarden or Bruce... :D

    I have heard The Boss too, but not as an opener. Maybe as a special guest.

    yeah it's gonna be soundgarden. matt cameron is gonna drum for them and pearl jam 4 times in 5 nights and then when the saturday show is over he's gonna get taken to the hospital and have his gang-greened arms amputated and get treated for severe dehydration and exaustion.

    then for the next tour he's gonna upstage that one armed drummer from def leppard and drum with NO ARMS!!!!!!!

    Might have been me. Mentioned it on a couple of thread, plus a thread suggesting that PJ does a festival with a number of other great bands, plus Soundgarden as well. :)

    I have a feeling there wont be an opener, but for a few shows there may be a 'special guest' such as Uncle Neil or Bruce... who stop in during the PJ set....



    Maybe its just hope.

    Halloween wasn't really a rumor. It was listed on multiple websites, and a venue person had mentioned that it was the "worst kept secret".

    I'm hoping for a great opener. Ben Harper, The Strokes, Soundgarden (but not likely to happen) would all be great! I'd even be up for more MMJ.

    i'd like to see 4 different openers, i'd hate to sit through "a Ted Leo" kind of opener for 4 nights in a row...

    If y'all are on here whining about whomever the opener is when it's announced, well .... you suck. :P
