Anyone really anticipating this record? It comes out 2 days after Backspacer and the first single dropped yesterday or Monday or something. Their last two records were brilliant and this song is very good. Extremely Modest Mouse-ish.

The last two albums were awesome and I'm going to see them in Cleveland in October. I'm excited about the new album, but don't know what to think of the single. Modest Mouse was my first reaction. I'm not sure that's a good thing. Nobody should be MM other than MM. Brand New has an amazing singer and it doesn't really show on the new single (a same issue I have with a lot of PJ's recent output actually). It's not bad, but it's not blowing me away either.

seeing them in philly in november... I've been obsessed with them for some time. This album should be great, though I don't know how they could possibly top The Devil & God...

I read an interview with Jesse Lacey where he said this album reminds him more of the song "the shower scene" (from their first album) than anything else (just not lyrically, thank god lol). Should be pretty straightforward rock, I'm very excited!

Sort of bumping an old post here, but I just wondered what others thought of this record. I have always kind of listened to Brand New, but I only really got into them at the end of last year. I love how all their albums are so different, although I would say Daisy is not as drastically different from The Devil... as the first three were.

But as for this record, I am a big fan of Bed, You Stole, Sink, Bought A Bride, Daisy and Noro.

I have always been kind of an emo fan, but I think that is a really unfortunate tag to put on a band like this that has done so many different things and made some really amazing music.
