The "Ed voice is still awesome" thread

Indeed, strangely all the recent comments i read on the forum remind me of the avocado area. Many had concerns about ed's voice at that time because it was graspier than ever on some avocado songs (especially comatose), and many were arguing about negative effects of time, nicotine, alcohol... whatever! Time proved them wrong as Ed was just finding new ways to sing (somewhat amazing after so many records) and the following tour... well he kicked ass as usual on any pearl jam song from any record! Now that i am reading the same comments 3 years later and after a carefull listen of the two concerts they have played so far, i think all of this complaining is just plain BS! Well maybe Ed is not in top shape yet but he still can scream his lungs out!

i've said it before...but i still think his voice is going strong. it is different than it used to be. it has aged...primarily because he has aged. his sense of melody is better than ever & i think that he still sounds great. sure, the cigarettes appear to have taken a bit of a toll on his voice, but i don't think the change is nearly as drastic or negative as some do.

his voice is probably 90% as good as it once was, and still 900% better than everone else.

i just watched a vid......i won't say what because 10c just took it down.
but yup that's what i was thinking. his voice still sounds hellagood.

He may not sound exactly the same as in 1990, but I still love the sound of his voice!
