Weird Ticket Pricing by Pearl Jam !!

I thought Pearl Jam took up the cause of fighting expensive tickets that were being sold by ticketmaster. I got tickets from 10 Club for the Shepards Bush Empire show in London for 11th August 2009.

Strangely the ticket prices were 72 Pounds per ticket for a venue like Shepards Bush which only houses about 2000 people. The other weird thing was, the physical tickets that were issued to me were only for 40 Pounds.

I am curious to find out if anyone else have had this same experience from 10 Club ???

Cheers.

I believe (and this is just my guess) that 72 pounds includes a service fee from Ten Club... so you're either paying a Ticketmaster type service fee, or a tenclub service fee.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Well that would be a 80% service charge yikes! MY guess is the tickets were $72 not pounds - but that is pure speculation.

Erm...Tickets were $145 per pair which at exchange rate of $1.6 = £1 means a pair of tickets were £90.63, making a single ticket just over £45, not much over the face value on the physical ticket, and if you bought the ticket through an agency you would pay postage plus bookings fee per ticket, probably taking the cost up to £50. Therefore tenclub tickets are cheaper than through a ticket agency. I do agree that £40 for a Shepherds Bush gig seems a bit steep, but it was Pearl Jam at Shepherds Bush, once in a lifetime opportunity and it was amazing so I'm not going to complain about ticket prices.

usually 10C tix are cheaper than the public sale route.

case in point, two philly tix for the 1st show from comcasr ran me about $187 after fees.
