Portland Amphitheater Info?

Anyone been to a show here before? Guess it's actually right across the border in WA state?

Cool venue?
Neat surroundings (i.e. natural stuff like the Gorge or Red Rocks) or more suburban stuff?
Easy to get in and out of, or a pain in the ass?

Considering driving up from NorCal and catching the Oregon/Cal game in Eugene that afternoon. But wanna know a little about what I'd be getting into.

Also, I know the TenClub ticket policy says no transfers or exchanges, but if I figure out I can't go and find my own transfer, what are the chances they'd honor that request? Seems like they've done that in the past... or am I just making that up in my mind ?

Thanks for any info y'all can provide!

Dude the ampitheatre has a good skyline view and vibe wise. My only complaint is the parking situation. It is going to be a nightmare getting in and getting out of that place. It makes no sense. It's taken 90 minutes plus to get out. Really frustrating. The views are really nice though. Its no gorge though. The lawn isnt really sloped either. I've never personally had any problems with the staff, but I know a lot of people who have. They have complained about the staff there and the customer service skills. A lot of rude workers there. Hope this helps. By the way its called Clark County Ampitheatre, its not even in Portland either. Its right across the river 25 minutes north in Washington State.

  • "good skyline view"? What exactly do you mean by this? A good view of the sky? I don't remember much of a view, but I've only been there 2 times..
    Gorge
  • I've heard nothing but bad things about this place but I'm stoked that they're in the area. I'm definitely getting premiere parking or doing the shuttle thing. I'm just curious to see how ten club sales go tomorrow.

good deal on a room. If enough fans stay, carpooling with four per car will help negate the slow exit from the show...just sayin' because if you have four per car you get special parking which is dope

  • Yeah, I read about that. Definitely a cool program.

I'm hoping that the lack of camping will make people slightly less idiotic than they usually are at the gorge - climbing over seats etc.

I plan on buying Premier Parking for $25.

    Premier Parking

Premier Parking is available for purchase. Premier Parking gives you closer proximity to the Amphitheater and, at the end of the event, your own access out of the parking area. Premier Parking for individual events can be purchased through TICKETMASTER via Internet only. Quantities are limited and go fast so order yours as soon as you order your tickets.

i don't think it is a cool view or a reallly nice venue. But who cares. PJ will be there.

Sounds like the acoustics should be great. http://livedesignonline.com/theatre/ampitheater_clark_county_meyer_sound_milo_melodie_070507/

Here is Coldplay playing gives a good shot of the whole place. looks ok to me

  • Thanks for the replies...

What can you guys tell me about 10C letting folks transfer? I know the policy says otherwise, but thought I'd heard about them letting people do it.

Is it me or does it seem like every amphitheater in the US has a bunch of assholes working there and it's a complete nightmare to get out of???

I know they are very strict about it now. Im pretty sure they wont allow it, even if you have someone all lined up. Its been like this starting with the 06 tour I believe.
  • Hi there; we are staying about 30 minutes north of the amphitheatre in Kelso. We found on hotels.ca a rate of $50 Cdn at the Econolodge Kelso. It will save abit of a drive for us heading North on Sunday. If anyone wants to carpool from here to take advantage of the express parking for four people in a car, let me know. We have room for two. Cheers! Lisa
