edited June 2010 in Given To Fly (live)
Date: August 11th, 2009
Location: London, UK
Venue: Shepherds Bush Empire
Show Time: 8.30pm Local Time (GMT)

Relayer: Brisk. (formally I Brisk I)

Main Set: Sometimes, Interstellar into Corduroy, The Fixer, All Along The Watchtower (w/ Ronnie Wood), Why Go, Dissident, Severed Hand, Given To Fly, Low Light, Even Flow (slower tempo), Present Tense, Save you, Down, Elderly Woman, Brother, Do The Evolution, Got Some

1st encore: The End (Eddie acoustic), Inside Job, Save It For Later/Better Man tag, Alive

2nd encore: Soldier Of Love, State Of Love And Trust, The Real Me (w/ Simon Townsend), Yellow Ledbetter

Soundcheck: (Thanks for the info BeerBaron :D ) The Fixer, Sometimes, Rats, The End (Ed solo)

Notes:
* Around 15:30 Ed popped out to meet a few fans.
* Intro music was Metamorphosis by Phillip Glass.
* Ed thanked Obama and said if it wasn't for him they wouldn't have been able to show their faces across American again... or maybe they could reinvent themselves as a Canadian band...
* Got Some fucked up... had to retry!
* I received a text from CHIME informing me that Mike was topless at 22:15
* Ed wiped his sweat on someone's flag after Save It For Later/ Better Man... no idea where the flag is from!
* Before 2nd encore Ed talked about the English music influence on PJ.
* STONE TOPLESS AT 22:55!!!! :o:mrgreen:
* Other Ed comments (Thanks Chime!):
~ after Why Go - "I'm becoming an admirer of your singing, you sound good"
~ after Evenflow - "If I could play drums like that I'd have the right to be the biggest asshole ... but Matt Cameron can play drums like that and he is also one of the best people on the planet"
~ It was a touch warm in the venue so when Ed sat down to play The End they put a big fan on him ... hair flowing in the breeze and he commented how it looked like an 80's video.

Soundcheck (Thanks for the info BeerBaron :D ) The Fixer, Sometimes, Rats, The End (Ed solo)
This threads get me so excited :)

No problem at all ... I just assumed that your relayer (Ed I think) hadn't sent you the soundcheck info, so I dug it up.

You are going to have a lot of fun with this thread once the show starts shortly ... I had blast with the Calgary one on Saturday night :)

    Cheers!

Don't stress over this, it should be fun, not stressful!

What I did the other night was I first posted each song in the thread in big letter, then I edited my first post in the thread with the addition to the setlist. That way, no matter where people look, they get the info!

Any thoughts on whether the setlist will be along the lines of the Vic or a more standard show?
  • Show #2 of 2009! I'm on for the ride too. Let's hope some audience boots start surfacing after this one! Not as in "shoe the shoeless," but, you know.

Different merch for tonight? Or are t-shirts the same as Calgary?
  • I've got two words for this thread; FUCK and YES!

I think (from what I can see on rough pictures) that it's pretty much the same as Calgary... but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a SheBu t-shirt like they did for Astoria...

  • Wish I was kicking back with some beers right now. Still at work for a few hours. We've got my Pearl Jam station playing in the lab on our Pandora account, so I'm getting in the mood for the show.
    Hope it's a good one.
