Last day of broadcasting for WBCN. Great friend of Pearl Jam, Punk and Alternative Rock. Huge legacy in music not only locally but nationally as well. Broke many bands including The Cars, The Police and U2 and was around for 41 years. They have a vinal archive of 11,000 records that will be donated to the Music Museum of New England

They played one of the Mansfield 2003 shows in its entirety this past Saturday night. Was on the way home from the bars and a little tipsy and suddenly thrilled because at first I thought it was a live simulcast from Calgary.

I love 100.7 and 92.9 is OK, but we don't really have another station here in Boston that would ever play an entire Pearl Jam concert. WAAF has never seemed as interested in this band as has WBCN.

    Sad day.

Are Toucher & Rich staying on to do sports commentary?

Agreed. They have WEEI with their monster ratings and are trying to compete with them. The problem is that they are assembling a bunch of cast off's for the new station. I give it a year before they pull the plug on this experiment.

Been listening to the 4 day send off as much as possible.
Gonna be strange not having BCN on the dial. Heard some great stuff the past few days, some old bits, Captain Ken lunch songs and some great tunes they never play anymore.
Sad day for Boston radio, even though its not the same BCN it once was, losing a major rock signal is bad.

And yes Toucher & Rich will do mornings at the new 98.5 sports station.
    This weekend we rock Portland
