Diazepam for muscle spasms

Yep, another medical thread! Asking for people's opinions on this ...
Well, as a gigging musician with too much gear to drag around, I ended up in hospital at the weekend with bad muscle spasms/pain. I had the whole bit: temperature of 101.3, bonkers heartbeat ("sinus tachycardia", the junior doc said, as the senior doc said "shaddap"), suspected pneumonia, you name it. But I'm a tough bastard and impossible to kill. I'm at my parents' house while I get better, which is difficult as my dad keeps trying to make me laugh and I'm avoiding tearing my insides in the process!
Now, I went to my doctor's surgery for "review", and I was prescribed more anti-inflammatories (the usual ibuprofen and co-codamol). A consultant came in and also prescribed diazepam. I don't suffer from anxiety etc., but it does serve in a capacity as a muscle relaxant.
However, I'm very wary of taking this stuff. After all, they changed the name of the Windscale nuclear plant to Sellafield for a reason: to wipe out negative connotations. And valium is now diazepam. Am I just being a bit too suspicious? Has anyone taken this stuff for muscle pain and muscle pain alone? Does it zonk you out?
I'm in pain, but I am getting better and I'm well enough to type shite on a message board now. What do you reckon, though, about this particular pharmaceutical? Tinfoil hat-wearers and drug company bosses equally welcome with opinions. I mean: Three valium a day. I'd be fit for fuck all, banging into walls and sleeping in the laundry basket ...

feel better
let your body heal....drink lots of liquids though. when a drug slows you down, your digestion will slow down as well. you might get stopped up. I have really bad ringing in my ears and I have taken it for tinnitus (to sleep) before and I expressed concern to my doctor (addiction or withdrawl). He said it was ok to be on it for 30 days. I never took it for 30 days. I hope you feel better soon!

"Throw them down the toilet", she said. "They made me feel sick when I was taking them for the terrible depression I had after you were born."

They used to dish them out like sweeties for the vaguest of reasons, in this country, once upon a time.
Lol!
Take one and then go take a nap.
If you don't like how you feel when you wake up, don't take any more of them.
I hate to laugh at your situation, but that's just hilarious man.
