Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

Alice in Chains no longer exists. It died in 2002.

That's interesting. I'm anxious to hear that. Guess I never thought to see Elton John paying tribute to Layne.

I would agree with you if Layne was the main artistic contributor to Alice In Chains... but he wasn't.

I'm totally stoked about this... Love Elton and love AIC
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

No, he wasn't the main artistic contributor, but he gave AIC it's soul. I think Jerry Cantrell is brilliant, but it ain't AIC without Staley. It's like Page without Plant, or Tango without Cash...

Man, I didn't think AIC would be the same without Layne, but it's so damn close. I love these new songs as much as Ive liked their other stuff the first time I heard it. Imagine Elton John singing "I think it's gonna raiiiiiiiiin".........come to think of it that would be many kinds of awesome

On the radio here in Van they have been playing a new AIC song over and over, even back to back one time, for the past day. I am pretty sure it is the song with Elton on piano. I could be wrong, but needless to say the song is great! Though I am not sure with your lead singer gone you should continue under the same band name. My opinion

I know this is an old bump but I wanted to hear some opinions on this now that some of you have heard the track. I think it works perfect, I didn't know it was John playing until a few months after I listened to the whole album many times. Always thought that piano work was really haunting and great, when I found out who it was it made sense.

Amazingly, he pulled it off. Sounded like an odd combo when first announced (although not as odd as Jack White teaming up with The Insane Clown Posse), but it really worked.

Yeah, it wasn't too much of a stretch to imagine a Jerry song with piano, since there was quite a bit of that on Boggy Depot.
