I would agree with you if Layne was the main artistic contributor to Alice In Chains... but he wasn't.
I'm totally stoked about this... Love Elton and love AIC
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

No, he wasn't the main artistic contributor, but he gave AIC it's soul. I think Jerry Cantrell is brilliant, but it ain't AIC without Staley. It's like Page without Plant, or Tango without Cash...
