Advice about getting a job and going to the LA/SD shows

I'm looking for a part-time job to help make ends meet. If I get an interview/get a new job, how would I get out of work to see the 4 L.A. shows and San Diego, which I've paid for and have committed to? Of should I wait until the shows and look for Christmas-seasonal work? Substitute teaching is cool, but there aren't as many subbing jobs available like there were a few years ago.

When you get to the interview, just say right there that you have already this trip planned and you'd need some days of. Worked for me. If you're boss is being fair and she/he knows about your trip well beforehand I'm sure it can be fixed.

Well, you could make it clear that you won't be available during that time period as you already have an "out-of-state" commitment (I don't know if it's out of state for you). Don't say it for concerts or anything, just say that it's a vacation that is already paid for. If they know up front, they will take it into consideration and hopefully still hire you with that in mind. Good luck on your job search :)

Well, lucky for me I live in Altadena (above Pasadena) which is less than 20 miles away from the Gibson. I'm about 120 miles north of San Diego.
