Watched a few episodes of it on Hulu. I have seen every episode a few years back, and seeing it again, it has lost nothing. Really, it is one of the best television shows ever, one of the best written ones as well.
the jokes on that show are so multilayered.
I have said it before, but how'd you like to be the idiot that cancelled the show? On second thought they probably have no idea the fan base this show has and had.

I love it, but I'm not surprised it got canceled. It's too smart for mainstream tv. There's no laugh track to tell people what they're supposed to be laughing at. The humor is often subtle and bitingly satirical... the jokes go by so fast I often find myself laughing at things I missed the first time or two around. This does not make for good ratings. The only people that will get the humor are not the types of people that will build their week around planting ass on couch at the same time/night every week, which is what matters to studios and sponsors. It really didn't take off until it became available on dvd. It had critical acclaim, but the people smart enough to get the show weren't sitting around watching tv every night and only got the chance to get into it when it was available to see at their leisure.
It's a damn shame though, because it is a truly brilliant show. Up there with The Wire as my fav tv program of all time.
Can't wait to see this on the big screen! I have missed GOB so much.
I was a huge fan of the show, but I am not surprised at all it got cancelled, and I can totally see why Fox made that decision. I mean it was on for 3 years, won an emmy for best comedy series, had a timeslot after The Simpsons, and yet it still couldn't get decent ratings. Add on top of that it was an expensive show to produce with a large main cast and lots of different scenes per episode (many on a location) and cancellation makes total sense. I mean how many more chances could they really give the show to get popular it is the Fox network not PBS.
if they can bring back futurama after all this time though why not AD?
by FAR the greatest ensemble cast of any show ever
hope the movie gets done and does the show justice

The difference with futurama is that if you are a voice actor recording your vocal track for the show requires way less work than actually acting in a live action show. I mean the voice actors for something like futurama can probably record all their stuff for the whole season in less than a few weeks. If you are an actor in a live action show it is much more of a comittment (something like 6-8 months at which point you can't really take on any other work). When the show was cancelled everyones contracts were cancelled so everyone moved on. People found other jobs and some, like Michael Cera can demand a higher paycheque than they did back in their AD days. That's why it is much more uncommon for a live action show to come back from cancellation.
i hear michael cera is the one holding up the AD movie... big hot shot michael cera with his incredibly range of characters  ... that punk ass better remember what started his career and do what it takes to get this movie made so i can enjoy it
