4 Shows...1 Venue...?

I was looking through the bootlegs to see if PJ ever played 4 shows "in a row" at 1 venue and couldn't find any other time besides upcoming philly. Does anyone know if they ever did this before or is this the first time?

So is this the first year that they are doing this?
I was trying to compare the set lists for the multiple shows to see how similar they are...
just sayin
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
n/m--i see what you are saying.
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
There were three Boston (mansfield) shows in 2003, but I believe one of them was later than the other two.
for the least they could possibly do
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Yea right....
These LA & Philbert shows are a first.
Philbert being the 1st to hold 4 shows in 5 days.
What the hell is Philbert?
Yea 4 shows in 5 days...gotta go to all four right???? Even if similar set lists...
nope...it was three... unless i was tripping on especially strong acid and imagined the 3rd night...which would mean i have flashbacks in imagining listening to jb III official boot
the only other time that comes to mind before the current LA(although there's a break in the middle) & Philly stands where PJ played the same venue for "4 shows in a row" would have to be in '97 at the Coliseum Stadium in Oakland opening up for the Rolling Stones on November 14, 15, 18, 19,...

Why the fuck can't they tour during the summer? I think they pick this weird ass time purposely so many fans cannot travel.
why does philly need/get 4 shows? they go there and new york all the time. Not complaining as they come to Chicago and Milwaukee/Alpine a lot, but 4 shows there and LA are certainly abnormal.
more power to them

Yea ur right
Id love if they played a string of shows at MSG like the dead used to do
but thats easy for me to say, I can easily make boston, NY or philly shows
me too.
however, they play 2-3 shows in NYC vicinity, i think in the future i will travel a LOT less tied to pearl jam. sure, i may still go to some cool new places.....but i don't need to return to philly, boston, hartford, etc. i'd hit up seattle again, maybe san fran, definitely red rocks.....and sure abroad, otherwise, think i'll stick to my local shows and we are fortunate to have em so often!
i wish i was a fan back in 2000....i would've loved 3 nights of pearl jam at jones beach!
hubby even wanted to go, to one show only, but as we had already spent a shit-ton on concerts that summer, i said oh let's pass. :? eh well...hindsight is 20/20!
i am only doing 2 out of the 4 for philly....gotta save my vacation time for other cool places to travel!

Yeah because you could walk to the shows!
As much as I hate that venue, the setting was quite spectacular, and the 24th was just awesome.
ha!
not quite...;)
but yes...i know many people have many issues with that venue - tho i am not one of them - but it is simply BEAUTIFUL! i saw a whole LOT of concerts there in my lifetime, period, but especially in 2000.....thus why i passed on pj at the time. not a fan then (barely knew em! ) and we already spent a fortune on tix that summer. eh, still...good times! just recently saw STP, also incubus not too long ago, there too.....still love the place!
so oh YES, pearl jam decides to do another 3-nighter at jones beach - i am THERE!
2 nights in philly will just have to work for now...

they are playing Philly for the simple reason that the Spectrum is closing down sometime at the end of the year. they were asked to be the last group to play there which is a huge honor. The Spectrum is a historic arena and was one of the top concert venues in the US for a long long time. At one point it was the most used arena in the country. Groups like the Grateful Dead, Springsteen and Billy Joel have played there 30 or more times. There are banners in the rafters (like championship banners) for them for all their sellouts. If the Spectrum wasn't closing this year I highly doubt they would be anywhere near Philly until next spring/summer. It was a special occasion and a huge honor to get to close it. They felt it was special enough to play - the 4 nights is a result of the demand because of no other East coast shows.
Incorrect - as mentioned previously in this thread, the 4 consecutive shows played in November/'97 while opening up for the Rolling Stones in Oakland would have been the 1st time the band did this,...

wouldnt it be SWEEEEET if some of the "special guests" are bands like GD, Springsteen, etc. as mentioned above that have a long history at the spectrum to share the stage w/PJ for a song or two...i wouldnt mind that at all since i plan on seeing 3/4 of the philly shows

Free buzz mmmmmmm.
Did they not play 4 semi consecutive shows in the same city? The original question wasn't is this the first time Pearl Jam has headlined a tour playing 4 shows in the same city, it was whether or not they had played 4 shows in the same city before.
