First song played in Chicago?

Doubt it will ever happen, but would floor me if I started the journey with Last Exit! What do you think??

    i wish they used album openers more often as show openers... theres a reason they rock so much on the album... it would translate perfectly live... "last exit", "brain of j", or "go" specifically

    heres to hoping!

    we'll get release like usual though :roll: (not complaining)

    I could care less what they open with, was sitting around and put Vitalogy on the turntable and thought that would make my night! Anything they play first or last will make my visit to the windy city memorable!!

    I'll be so disappointed if they don't open with Release one of the shows.. don't they always open with Release in Chicago? Part of the reason I'm coming.. haha.. to finally hear Release.. hopefully finally hear Hard to Imagine, In my Tree, and Light Years too!

    Got Sometimes and Light Years in Tampa....so awesome.

    I would love me some Brain of J, Sleight Of Hand, and Low Light though....

    Immortality would be quite the pleasant suprise as well.

    this makes me wonder if/when PJ is gonna do a fan written setlist based on our votes... like the decemberists did last thurs... i think we could come up with something REALLY good... not that they dont

    I'm hoping for "Release" as the opener at one of the Chicago shows. Will be shows 17 and 18 for me and the only time I have heard it was at my first Pearl Jam show in 1998 when they opened with it in East Lansing.

    Odds are they will open with Release at least one of the nights...I'm guessing night 1. It's a fantastic show opener.
    Other than that, who knows? It would be cool if they opened with Long Road.

    Release in Chicago! It just feels like everything is right with the world when they play that here. Into Last Exit would be awesome. Does anyone else wish they would always follow Last Exit by jumping right into Spin the Black Circle? It should be a rule :)

    My money is on release.
    Just like Toronto they almost ALWAYS open with Release. Since Toronto is right before that is quite the conundrum for Ed lol.

    but Release is the opener almost every Chicago 1/ Chicago tour stop

    usually night two has more of a rocking song versus the contemplative, Probably Got Some

    I'm with the others here who say Release. I'd put $100 on it, actually. At least one of the two nights.

    I'm not kidding when I say one of the reasons I chose to fly halfway across the country for these shows is because I think I have good odds at catching a live version of Release, given the meaning behind the song and its Chicago connection.

    It's my all-time favorite song. I saw them open with Release once in 1995 at the Moore Theater in Seattle. If it happens again I'm going to cry like a little boy.

    after reading all the release comments i looked back to the last time i saw a chicago show 10/9/2000 and sure enough..... they opened with release..... i hope Ed doesnt babble on about Ralph Nadar for a half hour this time :lol:

    And Wash. I heard it in Mansfield last year and it was EPIC.
    I feel as though I've heard a disproportionate amount of Of the Girl openers... not that I'm complaining. :)

    i've heard release..haven't heard of the girl..only been to 3 shows. of the girl is one of my favorites..

    how about night one- release.
    night 2- of the girl

    i think hard to imagine is the best opener though 8-)

    ive heard release at 4/6 shows ive been to... please for the love of god no release at chicago 1... save it for chicago 2 if you have to play it at all... i cant believe theres so many people actually asking for it... i just assumed its always been the norm and were over it
