I thought people are eligible for about 50% of a charitable donation (what this would be considered) to be deducted from their taxes, or something like that? Tickets were $70 apiece I believe, means it would cost one $540, or $270 per front row ticket... that's about fair I'd say. You'd see the same on craigslist or stubhub, and would have a guarantee that that money would be going into some greedy bastard's pocket.

Its a deduction for those that itemize their deductions. So the % is dependent on your tax bracket. You can deduct the total amount - the value of goods received which is likely face value of the tickets. I will say these will likely go over double what they are listed at now.

It says "Front Row Orchestra Seats". Does that mean front row in that little pit area or is the pit in front of orchestra. Imagine paying a whole bunch, and then getting there only to find a scene in front of you like that crowd in the front at Calgary. That would be a turd.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

The auction page says they are orch section 4 row AA, so that is first row outside the pit.

I took a close look at this. Obv the money is huge, but I was thinking there may be few chances in life to ever have such an experience (and with the potential for a tax credit, etc., it may not be the craziest thing I've ever done considering I paid $500 to see Ed at LAII and ended up sitting in some pretty bad seats with a tweaked out close talker on one side and a chick on her cellphone on the other). Taking a look at the 3D seating chart I found online, the seats are clearly outside of the pit. Still awesome, but certainly a bit misleading in the ad...
