So... I'm not totally sure what a Ted Leo is but I've heard nothing but bathroom talk around here about them. They must have some redeeming qualities. I gotta figure that parta my ticket cost is going to see this incredible band. Can one of you hard core Ted Leo'ers post up three or one good track from TL that I should use to introduce myself to this POWERHOUSE EXTRAORDINAIRE!

1.
2.
3.

PJ wants us to hear them... so they must sound sorta chilly dipped. Based on the chatter though... I'm sure fired up to have R7 opening my shows.

I did a YouTube search and listened to a couple of tracks - I enjoyed them! They weren't out of this world great, but they were songs I would listen to on purpose, and I recommend you do the same. I feel like they're bad-mouthed quite a bit because of their sound last tour, which was quite terrible. If they can improve on it drastically, I'd go as far as to say I'm excited they're opening the Toronto show.

again, in the Other Music forum I put up a bunch of youtube vids and a link to his site ...

    My Fave 3:
    Hearts of Oak
    Heart Prolems
    The High Party

I think the overall consensus is that "Me and Mia" is probably the biggest hit he's had, which, really isn't that big at all ... but, it's very radio friendly.

  • i've only heard one of their cd's, shake the sheets, which is actually pretty good in my opinion.

    i recommend:
    1. me and mia
    2. little dawn

i don't know them well enough to recommend any more than that. enjoy!

See, santos has love for the Hearts of Oak album!

Note, Ballad of the Sin Eater is indeed a great track, but, it's more like Ted hardcore rap than a song ... still, it's kicks some serious arse. Probably not the song you want to base Ted Leo on.

I found this version of him doing it solo ... pretty damn cool ...
