Anyone from Nr Worthing going to the SBE gig tomm?

Hi all,

I'm one of the lucky ones going to SBE tommorow. :) I'll be travelling up to meet my bro from Southampton at the gig. Only trouble is, if the PJ gig overruns, I'm stranded (as I was in April when I saw ACDC at the O2, when the Jubilee line ended up on a reduced service, scuppering my efforts to get the last train from Victoria. What a bad night THAT was..)

Just wondering if there are any kind souls here who might be able to give me a lift back if the scenario occurs where PJ are just playing and playing and that rush for the last train is getting too close for comfort!

I can get back to Brighton much later than Worthing, but this involves a very expensive cab ride home. :?

If there is anyone local to me who wouldn't mind PM'ing I'd really appreciate it, just so I have someone to call if things are getting a bit desperate! I don't smell too bad and promise not to break into "Mock---YEAH----ing----BIRD!" on the way home.

Cheers :D

Thanks! I hope so. Last gig I saw at the SBE, the band played till 11:30pm which JUST left me enough time to get the 00:05 home from Victoria. I've got a feeling that, as a special gig, this one might go on.

Can you drive? If so, the best thing to do is drive up to Gatwick, park your car in long stay (about £9), and get the train to Victoria (they run about every 10 mins or something). Trains back from Victoria to Gatwick are every 30 minutes or so right up to 2am, so when everyone's rushing to get the train, you can take it easy, buy some onion rings from Burger King, jump on the next train to Gatwick, then drive home. That's what I used to do when I lived in Worthing, works a treat and you're never rushed. Also, I'm pretty sure it actually works out cheaper doing this than the normal train from Worthing to Victoria.

The alternative is to tell your brother I'll buy his ticket off him for a tidy sum, then I'll drive over from Kent and pick you up

    (seriously)

Is your Bro driving back to Southampton? The train is also a pain in the ass for me to get back so i've been looking for a ride!

Yeah, Much easier to get to Gatwick, that is a good point. I work just outside the airport so can easily park there for free. Only trouble is that I can't enjoy a drink if I go with that plan. It does look like I will go that way though to be honest. Better than chancing getting stranded, or having to leave before the gig is finished (yeah right!).

My Bro is training back to Southampton, last train from Waterloo is 1am I think so he has no trouble getting back.

Remember to get the Gatwick to Victoria return - Southern Railway trains only + travelcard (for the tube), it costs about £12.30 from the machines at Gatwick. There is one which lets you use Gatwick Express (and any other train network), which obviously you don't need, and costs about £26... they stick that on the first menu of the machine and loads of people just buy it not knowing there's a cheaper option if you delve a bit further!

So I take it your brother has no intention of selling

    Thanks!

Nah, he really wants to go! We were both tempted by some of the prices that we've seen offered but this is a pretty rare opportunity. 8-)
