Hi guys I am not a very technical guitar player meaning I dont know all the types of amps and models so on. So my question is if I am looking for a good amp (I have my eye on Marshall) nothing crazy, what would be a good model to get. For instance a quick search on Guitar Center got me here. I dont want to spend to much more then this so that should help with suggestions.

I am not a complete novice but I am not sure when amps get to "this is all good stuff to have" to "all these extra knobs are not really necessary" I already have a Digitech pedal (i know not exactly the best way to go) but hey it was cheap and does some cool stuff. The thing is with that and my current Fender front man amp I think 5 watt or whatever its pretty small, stuff just doesnt sound all that cool. Thanks

Hey Bro,
If you are not in a band this amp rocks.
Has allot of cool preset for bands, has drums to play with, you can loop your tracks and also put a mic on it and play.

I would say, don't get an amp with built in effects because most of it you won't use.
Better to slowly add pedal effects as you go, because you'll only get what you need and you'll be able to spend more time integrating each pedal into your sound if you get them one at a time. plus you can spend more time researching what's available, what has the best reputation, what has the sound you want.
so, in conclusion, buy a combo tube amp. you can find a good one for less than a grand.0 -
I would look hard into Peaveys, Fenders and Traynors. I'd avoid the solid state Marshall series with a passion. If your truely set on solid state, then I'd look in the direction of Peavey.
Here are a couple tube combos'
