man... gotta admit only 2 new songs is disappointing
Is it really? If you really step back and think about it, that is all anyone could have expected ...
Yeah I guess I didn't really expect much more... but I was really hoping to hear half the new album in chi-town. I'd say now the odds of anything much more than the fixer/got some prior to album release are pretty slim to none. Hope I'm wrong.
23 songs - I thought they were supposed to be playing 26? Good setlist but they can go for longer. Is the curfew for real? I dont think we've ever had one in Australia. Why Go a kickass song to start with, one of my favourites. Not enough love for Riot Act, they need to play more songs from this album. But Rats and Brother - super cool! Cant wait for the next few shows.

Yes it is. My sister who lives in Calgary said that the police have really been cracking down on this the last few years. Probably because there is so much new housing development in the area.
I grew up there, but I don't remember any curfew shit. Suck's monkey balls
"What the CANUCK happened?!? - Esquimalt Barber Shop
Sheesh. We are so lucky in Australia! Dont know any venues that are close to housing areas, ours are in all the cities to my knowledge and we've never suffered under curfews.
Just got back from the show, and now I'm heading out for a friend's birthday--so this will be necessarily short. For now, I'm simply say that tonight reminded me why I love this band so, so much. It's not the setlist was not at all what I think a lot of us were expecting (although that helped), but because of the vibe. You know what I mean, and I know I can't explain it (especially not after spending seven-and-a-half hours at COP, most of which were on the rail or in the immediate vicinity). But tonight was a special one.
Oh, and "Got Some" is one motherfucker of a live song. Just you wait.

One more thing: I'll trawl this thread later on, but I'm guessing people thought our intrepid setlist relayer was lying when he sent over "Brother" and "The Real Me." Don't worry: I'm sure those of us in attendance thought the band was lying when they started playing them!

Great show. Highlights for me: "Down" and "All Night." "Rats" was also a plus. These are 3 songs I have never heard before. "Fixer" and "Got Some" were great. I'm sure everyone else has said the same stuff -- all in all, good times.

Looks like the other crossout might be Porch, or it could be Breath (fitting well with the B encore), though me seeing it as Breath sounds more like wishful thinking than anything else.
Other than that, pretty cool set. Opening with Why Go is killer, and I would love to hear The Real Me and Brother.
Well, can't wait until Chicago and Philly.
Still in shock but thought the set list might be of interest if it's not already on here (sorry if it is).
Best show of my PJ fandom. I'm wearing Ed's hat.
WTF?!?!?!?!
Sorry guys, I should have clarified, they didn't play Release; ripped straight in to Why Go. Comatose was not played after Black, and Spin The Black Circle was supposed to mix into Go (says 'don't go') on the set list. Hope that makes sense.
Anyone who doubted PJ at Virgin Fest should be feeling some serious shame right about now......
Say what you want, that setlist doesn't look that impressive to me. At this point you'd think they'd be testing out more than 2 new songs on the road. And the omission of Release might be the most massive failure of a big name band in recent history. Those who have seen Release open a show know what I'm talking about.
Brother and the Real Me??? Wow! I can't wait to read all the fan reviews! Thanks again to the relayer and thread runner for posting the pictures and set list!
I just checked out Breath_Gal's pictures (thanks for posting a link) The background of the stage looks to be the same as last years. Anyone...correct me if I'm wrong...

They're saving Release for tuesday night at Shepherd's Bush Empire
Anyone got a picture of the merch booth or a description of what was for sale? I saw the picture of the poster which had a couple of stickers and a cool PJ shirt that looks like the PJ is spelled using NW Native American animals.

3 Decibels Doubles the Volume
2006
Lot's of great highlights...
The Fixer and Got Some especially Got Some = really good
During Rats and Ben the two of us... Ed did a shoulder to shoulder cross over his heart
Spin the Black Circle was nuts!!!
The Real Me = unexpected... Ed mentioned when he was a teen that song was played as a closer at his first show
Lot's of crowd surfing moshing Douche bags
My spine will never be the same but worth it!
We'll post some more pics on http://twitter.com/RedLightning
Got some shots of Ed climbing the truss
Being front row tonight was a once in a lifetime experience for me...fingers crossed for a lottery to experience it again.
Thanks for coming back to calgary PJ!

Agreed. I think they would have got through more of that list if the crowd wasn't so rowdy and Ed didn't have to check to make sure everything was ok.
