What's your plan folks? I'm trying to work it out for myself. Being 17 and all, I don't feel as responsible as I should.

I'm thinking that 10:30 sounds better to me. We have MegaBus here is the US, and you can just buy your ticket directly from the driver because the Bus is never full. Is this the same case here, or should I purchase a bus ticket ahead of time?

We got it from Coventry to Manchester a couple of weeks ago and I was about ready to kill someone by the time we got off... and it smelt of wee.

You can buy on the bus, but it's usually more expensive than booking in advance. Much better to book if you know what time bus you want.

I've got the Megabus to London every time I have been to a concert there and every time it has been absolutely fine there is nothing wrong with it.

Nah it's fine - loads of people use it to go on holiday to london or to get to london airports to go on holiday so you will not be the only one with a massive case, they just put it in the hold section under the seats. don't think you have to pay extra or anything.

Our seatbelts were tied together so we couldn't use them, the seats were broken and uncomfortable, there was rubbish everywhere and the whole bus smelt of wee. Our journey was 3 hours long (Manchester to Coventry is about half the time of Manchester to London) and the driver drove quite badly. Being someone who works within the laws of the transport industry, this made me rather angry.

I've never taken the Megabus to London, I hear the buses are better quality but still, I wouldn't do it again.

hope so, but you know, it will be the one i got with me in the plane, so i am not sure but i think it is way to big to put it under the seat...

okay.. sounds like you had a nice trip... ;)
i drove many hours in a very bad bus not that long ago,
you think it takes 6 hours???????? the booking confirmation said it would take 4.5 hours....

i basically have no other choice, since i didnt booked anything in manchester, and wont be able to affort any accomodation and another ticket for the train....
  • manchester to london takes 4 and a half hours on megabus not six. in fact it usually takes less than that, last time i used it to go to london it took 3 hours 50. and it will stop at a service station about 2 and a half hours in so you can take a 15 minute refresh. it really is fine trust me.

I wasn't saying that it wouldn't be, I was merely stating MY experience with the Megabus services. I'm sure that Degi will be fine as they do stop more (they have to by law), it isn't 6 hours and as I've said, I hear the London Megabuses are better quality. Sheesh...

how much did it cost? cos the train only takes 2 hours and cost £8... if the bus is only £4, well even then i'd rather pay the extra to go by train than sit on a bus for 4 hours. especially as i will most likely have a hangover.

different strokes i suppose... at least we'll all get there somehow!!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Where did you find a train for £8? I was looking months in advance and it was £60+ so I went with the Megabus.
