Murmur

yes I know i started a REM thread a few days ago but this album deserves its own thread.
Ed said he listened to this album for three months straight, as a kid. literally listening to nothing but it for an entire summer.
What a brilliant album.
This song seems to have a unbelievable sense of melody and harmony.
Harborcoats-the way michael is singing the melody. The double tracked vocals during the song.
Laughing-the story of locuhon. Again, something about the way michael strings the words together makes me feel so happy.
Pilgrimage-very dark song, just the tone of it. but I like the sort of clanging of instruments, very bass sounds during the verses.
Standing Still-yet again, the sense of melody on this tune is astounding.

My favorite is "Talk About the Passion".
The entire reason why i got totally into rem, i actually started listening to this (i knew one or two hits) but he has a point, the album is fucking amazing. Perfect Circle!!!
Perfect Circle and Shaking Through are two of my fav REM songs.
