there was a time that i paid $70 for my cut. that was when i was on the east coast and had been going to the same guy for like 10 years.
when i moved to seattle, i tried a few places that friends had suggested (all in upscale, expensive places). i figured it was worth it to pay that much if the results were great. but they werent.
so i decided that since it was a crapshoot regardless, i might as well save some money. i went to a few different supercuts-type places and found this sweet vietnamese girl who did a great job (for $15). but then she stopped working there. i found out it was because she became a manager at another shop that just opened 2 blocks from my house. so that's where i always go now...$13.95 plus tip (and they have a punch card which makes your tenth cut free). $5 for bang trim. $8 for brow wax.
just goes to show, it is just as easy to find a good stylist at an inexpensive shop as it is at one of those fancy overpriced shops.
I shave my head but much prefer it to having hair (not that i'd have much anyway) - so much easier to care for a shaved head than having hair. I never liked my hair anyway - wish i had shaved it when i was younger.
yeah, me too....I just started shaving my head a couple months ago...I really like it...I've found the Venus razors work pretty darn good...pricey but good...
I went to a fancy place once. It was like $50 for a haircut and took like an hour. It was THE worst haircut I ever had in my life. I could have cut it better myself. There were chunks of hair she completely missed..
On the other hand, I've paid $12 for haircuts at Cost Cutters. In and out in 10 minutes. Some of the best haircuts.
Right now my friends sister cuts it. She has worked at fancy places and cheap places. Really the people are all the same and its hit or miss. Find someone you like and stick to them. If you like to be pampered then paying more for a haircut might be what you want.
never more than $18 with tip... went to a place recently that had a girl that looks like kelly from saved by the bell... ill probably be going back there for my next hair cut
Did ya do the new thing with your fringe you were talkin about? we need pics!!!
I pay €15 for my haircuts. Less if I feel lazy and go to my local barber.
So that's 23.1468 CAD or 21.5532 USD
no its still a side bang but thicker and more dramatic.
i wasn't too sure about it but when i got home and was hanging out with some people they all seemed to really like it... and the boyfriend loves it so i guess its ok... if they're all lying i'll hafto wear a hat the next few weeks though
Hmmm.......in the last 10-12 years I only remember paying for 1 hair cut. Ah, the joys of having a sister-in-law who is a hair stylist. Or whatever they want to be called. And I don't feel to bad hitting her up for free haircuts, because I only get my hair cut 1-2 times a year.
And the 1 I did pay for? That was last year when I visited my friend in NYC. I sorta got pressured into getting it cut, although it was pretty long, for a guy that is. Anyway, I paid like....$15 I think. It was a pretty good cut too.
I should be getting my hair cut on the 29th August... the first time at a proper salon in about 5 years (my friend used to cut it for me but it's way too big a task this time ). It's being 'trimmed' from arse length to just above my shoulders... I'm scared... and it's gonna cost me around £40 ($66).
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
Including tip? About $110 every five to six months. That includes highlights, cut and style. Not too bad really, as it takes my stylist over two hours to do the highlights alone

i've only highlighted or streaked my hair twice ever, my hair is really thick and tangles easily, when i dye it it gets even worse!

That's really good! Every time I have gone to get a cheap haircut, I have had to go back or go somewhere else to get it fixed. I gave up on the cheap places a couple of years ago.
wash, cut, blow dry was $21 plus tip at the Hair Cuttery recently. I walked in without an appt and the next available stylist (a young guy) cut my hair. I think he did a great job and he seemed really focused. My regular stylist at another shop talks alot and I wasn't happy with the way she's been layering my hair. I used to pay $13 if I didn't get it dried.

Where I go is about $35-$40 AUD but they are brilliant.
They take their time, about 30mins to 1 hr.
But the hairdresser I always make an appointment with charges me less hehe.

well usually i walk in there and lift my right arm to wave at everyone and i usually get the cut for free. everyone is so taken aback at how good looking i am they just have to take a step back in disbelief. it's only prudent that i get the cut for free after smoking lots of medical marijuana with the lucky persons in attendance.

absolutely!
to trim my hair is a breeze, probably a lot less intensive than a good haircut for a guy!
it's just bullshit.
maybe i need to start visiting barbershops and not hair salons?
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
Be careful! Cost me $27 for a 12 min trim @ a barbershop
she lets go
this
Unless you count the razors and shaving cream. But still much cheaper than a barber.

i am a guy, so no wash or blow dry or silly stuff
get it cut maybe every 6 or 7 weeks
I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!
my guy buzz cuts his own hair about twice a year. it looks good, not sloopy.
