"No Way" is such an incredible song; one of the best off Yield in my opinion. I'm really trying to understand why they don't play it live. Do you think it's because Ed just doesn't like singing the chorus - "I'm not trying to make a difference..."; because in reality the band is all about activism and actually trying to make a difference and have a positive effect?

I think I read somewhere that Stone isn't very fond of the song.

    I could be wrong, though.

I'd love to hear it. It would be a cool song to throw in among all the familiar ones during a live show.

I never read that but have heard that theory thrown around by fans.

aside from it potentially being really cool live for its rarity alone it also has a funky stone groove and a kick ass outro... this is the "who you are" of '09! i hope theyre rehearsing it right now for the show on the 8th :D

hence the "no way" part after "i'm not trying to make a difference"

i'd give a finger to hear this song on the 30th.

    Meh

Is it rude or necessary to reply with Meh? If one does not care about the topic or particular comment, why not just let it be? Am I interpreting the use correctly here?

Well, the way I've always interpreted it is, that he saying I'm not trying to make a difference, I'll stop trying to make a difference, No Way...So, he is actually saying he will never stop making a difference. I think there is another song where he does this, but I can't think off the top of my head.

Or Toronto as an apology for the opener!

I think it's one of those songs that works really well on record, but doesn't quite make it live. With a bit of tweaking it'd be pretty cool, but as is it relies a lot on the way it's produced IMO and sounds a bit messy live.

I'm not so sure. I have no solid facts other than that Stone wrote it (words and music).

I think it's just the natural instinct of the Pearl Jam fan to blame Stone lol.

    Yeah, I do that often.
